And hey, it's also okay for those bullshit "pregnancy crisis centers" (staffed with people without actual medical qualifications, no less) to flat-out lie to women about their options, so thanks Supreme Court!

Any incidents will be treated as act of war against United States

We now ban Muslims from entering, unless you’re a Saudi.

Probably not far fetched to believe Muslims will be next to be deported.

60% of Republican voters are perfectly OK with putting children in cages, so kicking more brown people out won’t phase them.

Articles out today too about how we have done NOTHING to prepare for further hacking of elections from Russia (or any other nation). There’s reason to believe Russia will go even further this November.

They should all kneel the next time they're told to do so.

Isn't there anything we can do before November to try and put a stop to this madness? I just...there's got to be a light at the end of this nightmare tunnel coming at some point, doesn't there? I plan to vote in November, no question, but I can't even be guaranteed at this point that will help or change anything, either.

I just feel so damn helpless.

As do I.

Is there anyone getting physically ill over all this? I’ve had headaches, stomachaches and some kind of an anxiety attack in the last week. I’ve chosen to avoid the news and social media as much as possible for the sake of my health, but sometimes I simply can’t look away.

i've been going overboard with news, between Trump and Brexit, it's all too overwhelming - i definitely feel better when i try to keep news to a minimum - but yes it is hard to look away from this train wreck

definitely need some no news days... but also don't want to bury my head in the sand...
 
I had to take a few days' break from social media over the weekend. It helped immensely, so going forward I need to be careful not to go overboard again.

Pearl, just remember that bad shit is going to happen whether or not you are tuned in to the news 24/7, and you have to accept that there's nothing you can do about it in the moment, so it's okay to shut it off and take care of yourself.

Hi Moonlit, the 'punishment' you're hoping for most likely comes from polling places. Not from folks screaming Nazi, or the Russia hoaxers.

I think folks like this have been undermining their own political preferences, and long before the current president. You can see it on local, state, and federal levels in the last decade plus.

Thank you so much Moonlit! It’s been about 5 years in the making but as each year passed, the harder it got to afford a place here in Vancouver on a single income. Finally I got a higher paying job that allowed me the opportunity to afford a place. I haven’t been particularly happy the last few years for various boring reasons, but this goal of mine to own my own place has surely put me in a better mood! :)

Thank you so much Anitram!! And that is totally an awesome story!!!! Sometimes floods happen for a good reason hehe. I’ll have to think about moving in with a potential future wife next time I am flooded out hehehe.

Barring a horse riding pedophile running for office on the Democratic ticket... it's as important as ever that all anti Trump voters town out in force in 2018 to vote out Republicans.

If that means a moderate, or even a never Trump republican needs to vote for a socialist, well then you better god damn vote for a socialist.

We can work out our issues with reasonable people. What is in power now, and all who support this power, must go.

still discussing similar over here, re. Macron/Le Pen - just on Saturday this French guy goes on a political rant saying he didn't vote last time and will never vote again, saying the Extreme Right don't scare him so not a threat, and saying there's no point in voting for candidates you don't agree with - it really pissed me off so i said to him gently "you might not be afraid of them, but a lot of people are, like immigrants like me, refugees, the vulnerable, anyone who doesn't fit their mould" ha and he just went pffff and couldn't think of anything to say

people need to think outside themselves, and think of others who would be affected by draconian policies, and if they don't well they will just have their own freedoms whittled away and they won't realise until it's too late and it comes to bite them on the arse

if people hadn't tactically voted against Le Pen last year, jeesus, it doesn't bear thinking about, would have been so many extremists in power all over the world
