My guess is we will see a very large number of Republicans in Congress announcing their retirements in 2018. It’s going to tell us what the level of panic is.

I so hope there's a blue wave next November and we take congress back.

If that happens, can Steve King and Chuck Grassley from my state be on that list?

I am pleasantly surprised. Roy Moore is a horrible human being. The fact that he lost to a man who prosecuted the KKK largely on the backs of black voters makes it even sweeter. I hope this inspires dems to run in traditional red states/districts.

he's actually quoting psalm 40 (horribly) right now

he's not conceding at all, this whole speech is about how god is about to perform a miracle. wow.

that was really a waste of time to wait for that. i expected an angry bitter and reluctant concession.

Ha ha ha fuck Roy Moore.

Also, there's no way Trump wrote his own tweet tonight. It's way too coherent.

I love watching a homophobic a$$hole lose in one of the deepest red states there is.

I feel like democrats are going to take the house, but still most likely not the senate in 2018 despite this big upset in Alabama. The 2020 election is far off, but Trump was always on shaky ground. I never thought he'd keep the Rust Belt because he only won with the Clinton campaign failing to actually campaign there until it was too late. Republicans also have to worry about defending Arizona & Georgia which have both become swing states moving closer to blue. I mean Hillary, despite her unpopularity, was able to bring those states even closer to turning blue than Obama did. What'll happen with a candidate who doesn't have her baggage? And then there's Florida which always seems to sway. Again, a lot can happen before then, but do people expect much to change from Trump from now until then?

BTW I'm an unaffiliated voter, not a democrat. I'm just fascinated by how people don't talk enough about democrats taking Virginia, Colorado & Nevada away for 3 straight elections. Those used to be solidly red states that always voted Republican. And I just don't think Republicans have done the same with PA, Michigan & Wisconsin. And if they aren't careful the same will soon happen in Arizona, and possibly Georgia. Though Georgia could become more like Florida & Ohio which neither really controls. Arizona is the one that could soon join Nevada & Colorado.

Trump is a predictive text generator at this point.
