Mentioned briefly on MSNBC, US Army Colonels and Captains who have been serving in Iraq testified before Congress today and mentioned that the media here in the USA has totally failed to describe the situation in Iraq. Most complained that the media would have you think that 90% of the people in Iraq do not like the US forces when in fact it is the other way around. They said that Iraqi civilians acts of kindness towards US troops never make the news.

I agree that the acts of kindness don't make the news, nor do the people who appreciate what has been done for them. I did see a news story once on a major network which talked about an Iraqi school that US soldiers visited on a daily basis bringing supplies, doing repairs, and becoming friends w/ the teachers and students.

But the media always tends to focus on the negative in every situation they are reporting.
