DISCLAIMER: You are very likely to find items mong my list of "dislkies" to be among your "likes." As we are all designed to choose what we like based on our own tastes and interests, you should not be offended by such. I welcome your attempts to proselytize me as to why I should start "likeing" something which I currently "dislike." I am interested to see why you think I should like these things.

In the spirit of today's forum activity, I thought it would be appropriate for me to be up-front and honest with all of you and go ahead an put on the table as many things as I can think of which I dislike.

1. steamed vegetables
2. boy bands, girl groups, pop sensations, radiohead
3. theocracy

LOL@barfing. I love sushi. Actually, the whole sushi bar experience with friends is great. Bama, I agree with you on the Irish dancing although I did like it when I first saw it. Coffee rules -- espresso and french roast, anyway.

1. You can't fry all vegetables, you know.
2. I like Radiohead's music and lyrics, but you could cauterize a dog's throat and it'd sing better than Thom Yorke.
9. Jalapeno Christmas lights???
19. Eh...if you like Michelob Light better than Guinness and Bass, I'm going to have to call you a redneck.
21. A pox on you.
22. Don't make me zap you with my matter transmogrifier.

How would you know?

See, now I need a bunch of people to chime in and attack you for your stereotyping of me. European beer doesn't pleasure or refresh me, quench my thirst, relax me, or, in general, make me feel any better.

Perhaps AchtungBubba will appear and put me in my place.

Michelob, Bud and similar brews are fine for boatracing and for inducing urine, but otherwise I prefer beers that taste like something.

I would not even use them for that.

Gimme a Newcastle!

See, the 2 of you are hinged on the whole "taste" obstacle; I prefer the taste of Michelob Light, and you prefer the ones which I despise. There is no hope of conversion on my beer tastes.

Dislikes:

CD players that start skipping just when you are most involved in the music that is playing.

Genteel squalor and not having the willpower to rectify it.

Ranting and raving letters to the editor in your local newspaper, and the idiot editor who saw fit to publish them.

Computers that crash three times a day.

Forgetting to regularly save some important piece of work-in-progress, and then suffering a power failure.

Clothes dryers that do not 'dry' anything.

Crank telephone callers who don't even have the guts to make an obscene comment or two before hanging up.

Telemarketers who don't know when to call it quits.

Door-to-door evangelists who don't know when to call it quits.

Junk mail in any form.

Sleeping in.

Waking up.

Barking neighbours' dogs - and barking neighbours.

Traffic.

Being awake to see the sunrise when you know you really should be unconscious.

German Shepards - the only dog that always appears mad, bad and dangerous to know.

Cheap printing paper that curls at the edges.

Ants.

"There's a wild thing in the woolshed
and it's keeping me awake at night
A devil in the closet
and a feeling I'd prefer to hide
He is religion
He won't hear me when I cry for help
He has a vision of me
but I am somebody else..."

Cheers to Bama for posting what makes him an individual. (sounds like it could be another "get-to-know-me" thread).

Jeers to the ones who will try to make him conform to their tastes.

And down with Rev. Al Sharpton!

-My job
-Spiders
-People who stink

Since I am a Socialist, I'd prefer Socialism, which I would like to think is not as left-wing as communism and not as inefficient as capitalism, yes, I did call capitalism inefficient.

Well Bama-ditto on everything except the Irish dancing and coffee.

All I can say is-go to Riverdance once, and maybe you'll change your mind. It's amazing. Maybe one day you'll get 'brave' enough to try.

And I can't live w/ out my two cups of coffee every morning-but just the regular stuff, not 'fancy'.

I don't want to go into my dislikes-it's too negative for this early in the morning. So I'll just say one thing I like-reading Bama's posts on Interference.

I'm curious, what do you dislike about Amnesty? I've heard a few people say they disagree with Amnesty, but so far none of them have told me what specifically they dislike. So, what's your opinion?

(please note I'm not criticising your opinion, I'm just curious about it. Thanks!)

I expected it would only be a matter of time before one of you secured me in your sites on this one. Considering that I could not even endure the 60-second commercials they used to show on televsion, I am certain that I would not enjoy an entire show. I guess it means I have no culture, but I have never enjoyed such performances.

Addendum 1

32. Madonna
33. Polka (dots, dancing, music, all of it)
34. Tori Amos
35. The guy on NBC Sports who asked Pete Rose the inappropriate question a few years ago.

And, thank you, Gina Marie, for liking my posts.
