I mean, come on. Lets get real here. America died? We have survived plenty through our history, and there is no way the election of Donald Trump is the final tipping point. He's not going to be able to (nor try to) undo every civil right that exists. Regardless of who he ultimately nominates for the Supreme Court, its not going to change the balance on the court, he's replacing a conservative. Perhaps the liberal agenda doesn't steamroll along at a break neck pace for a short term, but we aren't returning to 1859 for crying out loud.

Then we're gonna start a nuclear holocaust, even though Trump is mostly anti-war. Then we're make all the black people slaves, even though one of Trump's biggest priorities is bringing back jobs to the inner cities and african american communities that have been devastated the last 8 years.
Then he's going to go into a lazarus pit, overthrow the government, and be dictator for life!

You are a very decent, kinder than I am no doubt.

I will give you a piece of advice that somebody gave me not too long ago. It may sound harsh, I was a bit taken aback by it initially but have lived on this principle since and have thrived.

You do not have to tolerate familial terrorists. They do not deserve extra deference due to genetics. The outcome may be sad but you'll be better for it in the long run.

I do think some people are angry because their side didn't win. In fact some people in here spiked the football prematurely leading up to election day, and rubbed their certain "victory" in our faces and danced all around us, mocked us, even. And then when that victory didn't happen....oops! Now let's jump on the bandwagon of "you must be a racist because you voted for one" and "you are really missing the point" or "you were conned".

Since the election i have been called several things in here; poor, uneducated, low information voter, racist, idiot, dick, c__t, and so many other not very nice things.

I think you personally have some anger issues that might need to be addressed. Rather than continue the tirade towards a token TRUMP supporter online, why not get out of here and spend time with your family or pick up a healthy hobby?

Some things are more important than political affiliation. This man is a con. He's not even a major real estate developer, and hasn't been in decades. Why? He went bankrupt. Most of the buildings with his name on it he didn't even build. He's a brand; famous for being famous. You think this smart businessman is going to fix anything? You voted for a glorified Kim Kardashian. You. Were. Conned.

But worse, he's done nothing but spew hateful rhetoric throughout his campaign. I know all Trump supporters aren't racist homophobes. But ya did vote for one. And don't show that fucking pixture of Trump with the rainbow flag again. A man who cares about LBGT rights does not name Mike Pence as his running mate.

Taking money from a country as a whole isn't the same thing as taking money from specific individuals. Did she take money from specific individuals who advocated for the killings of gay people, or did the foundation just accept money from various people in that country who may have had no involvement in or supported that horrible shit?

If it's the former, that's upsetting and horrible. If it's the latter, then I don't get why those donors need to be blamed for the horrible beliefs others in their country hold.

How nice of him. Still doesn't negate the fact that he picked a rabidly anti-LGBT vice president. If he cares so much about gay people, why'd he pick Mike Pence?

Also, Headache shared an article a few pages back noting that many of Trump's overseas businesses did dealings with unfriendly countries. So he should stop accepting money and business from those places and return any money he made off that stuff, too. Right?

So when you get called racist, misogynist, and xenophobic -- and you see people protesting against this person and feeling hurt that their fellow Americans voted to put such a person in power -- understand that your actions have enabled and legitimized and normalized racism, misogyny, and xenophobia and have thus put other people's lives in danger.

You don't get to escape it because your feelings are hurt that people are calling you names. You may have felt like you had no other choice; you may have felt like he was genuinely the best choice for reasons that had nothing to do with hate.

But you have to own what you have done.

The folks who voted for Trump voted for racism, xenophobia, and white nationalism. They also gave their support for sexual assault. They also gave approval to the alt-right white supremacists who surround his campaign like Steve Brannon, who may become his chief of staff.

These individuals themselves may not be racist, xenophobic, or white nationalists. But they voted for it.

What a privilege it must be to vote for such things because it won't ever affect you.

You may want to research Trump's history with concern to Native Americans.
He smeared them before Congress 20 years ago, in order to protect his Atlantic City casino (it failed). The Trumps may want to expand into casinos again, and he would probably try similar tactics again. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to assign a label to all Native Americans at some point.
