For those of you who are religious (doesn't matter what religion really), do you ever get embarassed or self conscious while having sex thinking that God is watching you? Even if it's with your own spouse? Isn't God supposed to be watching you all the time? I don't know if I could let myself go in abandonment knowing I was being observed! Or does God go away and let you have privacy?

Did anyone ever even think of this before? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

when my mind was filled with absurd religious thinking

thoughts like this
did enter my mind

i was also susceptible to other needless shame for being human

God did not create us to shame us.

Man is the creator and abuser of shame.

i hope God is watching when i have sex, so he can go back to the people who seem to think that no matter what i do it's deplorable and sinful and tell them that they're full of shit.

its ok...God is smiling down on you for that was the purpose of making men and women.......I think:scratch:

Gods own personal porno's:cute:

ew..that was just wrong to say.:barf:

I guess when the religious people say sex is bad

they are telling the truth

if they are speaking for themselves

I should probably mention that I am not religious at all, but the thought popped into my head the other day, and I wondered what other people (especially the religious ones) thought about it.

For example, suppose you are not ashamed of sex at all (which you shouldn't be!) would you still be wondering if God was watching....and wouldn't that make you just suddenly feel self conscious at an inoportune moment? Not because what you are doing is bad, but because you have lost your privacy?

Almost like your mother barging in on you when you were making out in your room in high school or something?

Even if God were smiling down benevelently upon me, I'm not sure that I'd want him watching anyway!

"God!! Go away!!!!"

If I were religious there would be a lot of things I would be ashamed of for God to see. Sex isn't one of them.

Holy crap! I am so glad to see you posting in here!

Woo Hoo!

WE missed yoU!

And God created my hairy ass.....why would I be embarassd?

I've never even thought about it, to be honest.

I mean, in the same vein, if you believe in an afterlife, you may feel that you have your deceased parents/grandparents/etc watching on from above, but I've never had the pervasive feeling they were interested in those specifics, lol!

Gosh, thanks! I am not in FYM very often...I find life a lot less stressful when I'm not worrying about arguing...but I do like to pop in every now and then. :) BTW, that statue in your avatar, I saw it at the Hershorn museum in DC, have you seen it? It's quite ummm something!

Interesting....my next question would be why is that?

Because consensual sex is good and it's my opinion that orgasmliness is close to Godliness.

Eeek, I do believe in ghosts and never thought about that! Same thing with the deceased relatives. There's an entire peanut gallery watching!!!! I will never be able to enjoy myself again!

I have been telling people it is me:wink:

I am sure God thinks that virgin births are not as fun if GOD has been watching!!!!!

I agree..but to play devil's advocate, how do you get to the orgasm point when you feel like you're being watched by God?

Scream OH GOD...it helps

When I was in college (the first time), my roommate had sex while I was in the room, pretending to sleep.

His lover decided to invoke as many deities as she could imagine, by name.

So instead of the generic, "Oh God, oh gahhhd, oh-my-GOOOOOD,"
I was treated to
"Oh Krishna,"
"Oh Buddha,"
"Oh Jesus."

If it's *good, loving, and consensual,* not only does God watch sex, but, actually,
God is sex.

Sexual shame is one of the confusing and problematic parts of sex for teens for sure. It made me crazy when I was younger.

But now, teens just don't have sex like they used to, trying to avoid the whole thing altogether!!!

Easy. I'm not religious but I do have a spiritual path and believe very deeply in a higher power and just as even the Bible says, I believe that power is literally within me, not an external entity watching me from the outside. The God I believe in is playful and fun and I invite that power into everything I do. Sex is off the charts when you bring God into it. :)

doesn't Prince believe in that? that the way to see God, or at least visit, is through the achievement of the ultimate orgasm -- that each orgasm is a window into the afterlife?

or something?

or did i completely pull that out of my ass?
