Well, her politics aside...

I went to South Carolina a couple of years ago, and took a tour of Beaufort. I think it's Prince Of Tides that was filmed there. The tour guide said that Babs was a royal pain in the when she was there. She had this gorgeous house where she was staying completely redecorated because it wasn't up to her standards. She had a huge fence put around it so people couldn't see it. There were other things, but I can't remember.

The payoff though was she actually called the military base and asked the base commander to have the planes detoured, because they were flying over her house and 'disturbing' her. -who does she think she is? I think it might have been during the Gulf War. The tour guide said the commander ordered the planes to fly over her house even more often

Her nose always bugged the hell out of me....am i buggin ya...(you know the rest)

I don't really have a problem with her disliking our current countries leading representative. That is her right, BUT I think she would be better taken with her point of view on him if she was just more well spoken about it. All that she has managed to accomplish is to bee ( ) seen in a very poor light and to be the butt of jokes and mockery.

crys if I have to hear her name one more time at work....

I cannot stand her. I don't care if celebrities comment on politics and current events, but at least know SOMETHING about the subject first.

And her nose always bothered me too.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......?!?!?!

Um...thanks, there's a disturbing mental image...ewww...*shudders*

Oh, god, that's just...wrong on every level that could be wrong on...and more...

To add insult to injury, I hear Cher performs "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" at concerts sometimes, apparently.

Some people should just never touch the sanctity that is U2's music.

Streisand Quotes Vonnegut's "Wear Sunscreen" Speech
(2002-10-01) -- Barbra Streisand, speaking at a Democrat fundraiser last night, again quoted from a famous author.

Ms. Streisand began her address saying, "I'll always remember the words of Kurt Vonnegut, as he spoke to the 1997 graduating class of MIT. He said, 'Wear Sunscreen.' And Vonnegut also said, 'Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.'"

When informed that Wear Sunscreen actually came from a column by Mary Smich of the Chicago Tribune, Ms. Streisand replied, "I knew somebody wrote it, or said it. The important thing is not who said it, but how much money the Democrats raised tonight by having me here...by the way, who's Vonnegut anyway?"
