WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that prisoners seized as potential terrorists and held for more than two years at a U.S. military prison camp in Cuba may challenge their captivity in American courts, a defeat for President Bush in one of the first major high court cases arising from the Sept. 11 attacks.

I just wonder if they will be appointed, how do they go about searching, will they be allowed representation from foreign land, etc.?

I agree with nbc. It's good to be able to detain potentially dangerous people, but it's also good to give detainees access to the courts to challenge detentions in case of mistakes.

Nice statement from ai:
"Throughout this process, the administration has shown a lack of trust in its domestic courts and a disregard for its international obligations", Amnesty International said. "At the same time it asked for others to trust that it would not abuse its power. That appeal to blind faith has been rejected by the Supreme Court today."
