Songwriters of Intereference Post Here .....

For all of you songwriters out there and 'card carrying geniuses' aka guitar players, I would love for you to post your fave self penned song and a bit of a bio on the structure of the song, I have been writing heaps of songs of late and would love to be read some interferencers songs, anyway here is one that I wrote just recently, it is a bit of a fun one about pretty people and all that....

the song has a fast pace with the verses being G, D, C and then D for each line

the chorus is F and D

here are the lyrics

we're reasing silicone pages, with lipstick thats bright red
the centrefolds on page three, well I'm sure that it used to be midway
just put in a tested colour to replace that grey
one day, oh one day, I might look that way

CHORUS
where have all of the beautiful people gone
all of their celluloid dreams I know so well
and with a lift, lip, nip and tuck and I'm there x3

Organza, chiffon and glorious sequins galore
but tell me how many times do you think they score?
But please do me a favour and please refrain
from talking about hot tubs with champagne

CHORUS

Curves and hips are nowhere to be seen
is there ever going to be a place for you and me
I'm shopping thriftly and locally
It's not the height of Paris or even Italy
But one day oh one day, I might look like them, one day, oh one day, oh onnnnne day!!

CHORUS

and there you go

I can't write music, but I do write lyrics and sing.

In Dream Out Loud, I have two threads with links to lyrics and MP3's of mine (I just put these up)

"Black Dress, Baby": http://forum.interference.com/u2feed...ML/000869.html
"The Night": http://forum.interference.com/u2feed...ML/000866.html

I'm actually lookin' for anybody who can play instruments and/or write music to possibly collaborate with sometime.

here's a sweet little love song I wrote once...

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU

Your eyes
- As blue as any blue twine,
Your hair
- Like a napkin dispenser does shine,
That smile
- Like a strip of licorice so red,
And I love that wart
On the side of your head.

Your laugh
- Like the gentle squealing of a tire,
Your voice
- Like a wild gorilla choir,
Your face
- As pretty as a tomb,
You sweep me off my feet
Like a dust-infested broom.

(chorus)
These are the things
That when I think about you,
Make all my problems
Simply fade from view.
`Cos this is what I like,
What I like about you.

Your nose
- Like a great parrot's perch,
Your neck
- Like a steeple on a church,
Your ears
- They remind me of Dumbo,
Your feet are really small
But your thighs are size jumbo!

(repeat chorus)

but here's a serious love song, about God's love for us:

LAY YOUR BURDENS DOWN

When the ground you stand on
Seems to crumble `neath your feet
When you're walking on hot coals
And you can't take the heat
When you're cursed and spit upon
By everyone you meet
When all others leave you
I will be here

(chorus)
Lay your burdens down
All your troubles too
Don't try to be strong
I'll be strong for you
I will calm your fears
I will wipe your tears
Every single moment
I will be here.

When the wickedness of man
Troubles your soul
When you cry out at night
For a warm hand to hold
When years of loneliness
Have demanded their toll
When all things have failed you
I will be here

(repeat chorus)

(bridge)
When you need love
Look no further than me
My love is unconditional
It's completely free.

(instrumental interlude)

(repeat chorus)

i post my songs in dream out loud.

my music is a combination of strutured rock (acoustic guitar) and ambient electronic. soothing spacy music with structure.

im in the middle of recording my debut cd. it should be done by the end of january (if my computer gets with the progam )

updates to follow next month.

------------------
And I feel like I'm slowly slowly slowly slipping under.

And I feel like I'm holding onto nothing.

ADAM (talking about Elevation):
"I like it, it's very hard to play live...(starts smiling) I don't understand what it's about, it's good."

arggggggghhhhhhhh Aurora I'm gonna write a song about the frustrations of trying to connect to the net. My server is driving me nuts this past week. So just wanted to say g'day while I'm here.
Can't say I've ever completed a whole song, but because hub works at a music college and studio, I get to hear such raw, new stuff and I love it!! The endless possibilities of music are extraordinary.
I'm not so sad about the break up of his band(he's rehearsing a new line up already)I was listening to their originals a couple of days ago, written by drummer and singer, different feels , all about the same thing really, sex. New, more tasteful songs will be good to be a part of.
BEST NEWS!!! I got the Walk On CD single yesterday!! Wow, Edge's bright strings on the toronto version of Stay aahhhhhhhhhhbeautiful
Cheers 2U Aurora.
If ever I finish a tune I'll share it with you...I kinda have one called Been So Long..but it's sad....of course lol
