Yep, one day I will talk to him and a lot of other folks.

What a party!

That is what I believe.

According the the account by Robert Rosen in his book on the final days of John Lennon, Nowhere Man, Lennon converted to the Christian faith shortly before his death.
He told his friends and even attended several church services.

Yoko was not very happy about this and really gave him the third degree.

This is one of the final songs he wrote and recorded:
(the song was not included on the first
"Double Fantasy" release, but is on the 2000 release)

Help Me to Help Myself

Well, I tried so hard to settle down
but, the Angel of Destruction keeps houndin' me all around

But I know in my heart
the leaves are shining in the sun
That we never really parted

Oh, help me, Lord
Please, help me, Lord, yeah,yeah,yeah
Help me to help myself
Help me to help myself

They say the Lord helps those who help themselves,
So I'm asking this question in the hope that you will be kind,
cause deep down I know
the leaves are shining in the sun,

Oh, help me Lord,
Please, help me Lord, yeah,yeah,yeah
Help me to help myself
Help me to help myself

-John Lennon

that man found heaven in his heart...does anyone else wonder if God thinks we are foolish for wondering who gets in and who doesn't? it all sounds like a p-diddy party............not that i'm in any way discounting how cool this thread was/is

if Lennon had to spend his time in heaven talking to everyone who wants to talk to him would it then still feel like heaven for John Lennon?

I just hope they don't play Yoko's music in Heaven

"The floor is hard, the chair is hard, your love is hard...Come on! Come on!"

That sounds more like hell to me.

What a great thread!

I did a paper on Lennon in high school (catholic - way back) about how spiritual he was. Those lyrics make perfect sense to me.

How sad I was when he was killed. I don't doubt his soul has touched many others, here and in heaven. I tend to believe that it's not the who's in/who's not thing of ultimate control. He made us all, did He not?

Oh, John was always secretly a Christian.

In '69, he actually told the rest of the Beatles (at an Apple meeting) that he was Jesus Christ. Of course, he was strung out on heroin back then, and his mates smartly ignored him. (The Ballad of John and Yoko does betray a tinge of the Messiah Complex.)

Like the old song says, if there's a rock and roll heaven, you know they got a hell of a band! ;)

Wow...

When I think of the song "Imagine", I think of the place he takes us as some sort of Heaven or Utopia. Ironically enough, the first verse says "Imagine there's no heaven..."

By the way, nice thread.
