Ha! I've been reading lately that she basically obsessed over every negative thing said about her.

Vote Palin-Romney 2012 for their rightwing conservatisim. In 2012 we must vote for Governor Sarah Palin to become our President and Governor Mitt Romney to become our Vice President starting on January 20, 2013 , because of Governor Sarah Palin's and Governor Mitt Romney's superior right wing conservative philosophy. Governor Sarah Palin's and Governor Mitt Romney's superior right wing philosophy is shown in that they are pro God and Christianity, pro life, pro marriage; pro guns-second amendment, pro low taxes, pro low government spending; pro small government, pro unintrusive government, pro traditional and Judeo Christian values; pro Bible reading and prayer in our public schools, pro Christians schools and private education , pro private and free enterprise; pro military spending, anti arms agreements with Russia, pro creation; pro nuclear, pro conservative supreme court judges, pro American sovereignty; pro capitalism, anti communist, anti socialist; conservative on immigration, pro individual , and pro constitution

That quote about criticism is from Elbert Hubbard, a popular early-20th-century American writer and speaker who died on the Lusitania. How on earth it came to be attributed to Aristotle by some Internet sources, I have no idea  --really you can tell at a glance that it's modern in origin.

Only if you're an elitist.

Uh, yeah... Keep telling yourself there's a level playing field and that the poor don't stay poor and the rich don't keep getting richer.
You're missing the point altogether.

You don't need anything but tariffs and excise taxes in order to provide for the functions perscribed in the Constitution. That is how our country stood the test of history prior to the reintroduction of the income tax, which we were promised would eliminate socialist sentiment. :lmao:

Another option is the "FairTax", which would abolish the 16th Amendment and the IRS altogether and replace it with a national sales tax.

Third option, a flat tax of no greater than 10% across the board, and no write-offs in order to simplify the tax code.

None of these ideas were practical to Herbert Hoover, but raising the income tax from 24% to 63% on the top bracket was. So was signing the Smoot-Hawley Tariff into law after Harding and Coolidge already raised tariffs.

Class warfare should be fought amongst the states.

Maybe so.

If Palin should use Aristotle, I recommend this one:

"Hence tyrants are always fond of bad men, because they love to be flattered, but no man who has the spirit of a freeman in him will lower himself by flattery; good men love others, or at any rate do not flatter them. Moreover, the bad are useful for bad purposes; 'nail knocks out nail,' as the proverb says. It is characteristic of a tyrant to dislike every one who has dignity or independence; he wants to be alone in his glory, but any one who claims a like dignity or asserts his independence encroaches upon his prerogative, and is hated by him as an enemy to his power. Another mark of a tyrant is that he likes foreigners better than citizens, and lives with them and invites them to his table; for the one are enemies, but the Others enter into no rivalry with him."

I couldn't care less about the content of Sarah Palin's Twitters. Misattributed quotes just annoy me.

I hear ya on that one.

I don't Twitter, and nothing against those who do, but I can care less for every boring detail in my friends' lives.

I read the article Palin wrote and I'm infuriated that it had a dangling participle!

What was she thinking?

She's a working mother with a successful carreer and also with conservative views. I can well understand how this combination does not find favour with the extreme left.

Although I think extreme liberals tend to in general hate married women with kids. They'd prefer it the kids had been aborted, or if the mother had divorced.

Palin has shown a mirror to the rotten heart of extreme liberalism, and they don't like what they see, so they react accordingly.

she's an everyday American mom who doesn't have time for all that high-falutin' thinking and being an expert on things and knowing what you're talking about.

all you need are guts, not brains.

so why worry about thinking?

Misogyny and elitism in the one post.

Well done, you.

Get back to me when you can address the point of why an alleged stupid dumb redneck can be elected to high political office and come within a hairsbreadth of being VP.

Guess what? I am one of the few dinosaurs who has stayed home and raised my kids. I think what she did to her teenage daughter by thrusting her into the spotlight is terrible. Where was her "family first" attitude with that move?

The only thing Sarah Palin has shown that is "extreme" is stupidity.

if you could point out the misogyny, that would be great. sounds HUGELY ironic to me coming from someone who doesn't think anything is homophobic.

however, to answer your question, this "stupid dumb redneck" as you put it came within a hairsbreadth of being VP because of the absolute and total bankruptcy of John McCain.

Alaska also has 650,000 people. that's about how many people live in Washington DC. this is a town that continually re-elected Marion Barry (though this might be too US-specific, i apologize).

i really don't have the time to go into the absolute lack of any evidence of any of Palin's thinking on any issues of national importance prior to August of 2008, nor do i have the time to rehash her demonstrated ignorance of said issues and total lack of expertise when it comes to governance, especially now that she's not even a one-term governor.

the record shows that she's a farce. i understand that you're trying to play the misogyny card in the way that you think i might play the homophobia card, but i'm happy to defend my position and it has nothing to do with gender, excepting the fact that the reason she was selected was precisely to jazz up the GOP ticket, woo disenchanted Hillary voters, and to show off her evidently "pro-life lifestyle."

That must be it.

All those other moderates who were turned off by her - what rotten thing about them does it expose? Enlighten us.

Well we elected a stupid redneck twice, so that's not really a feather in cap. I think Gov Palin was in way over her head, but then again so was he.

It's laughable to even respond and I don't call myself an extreme liberal, but I think it's great that she has kids and is a working mother. She has a beautiful family. I just haven't seen anything from her as far as when she was the VP candidate that makes me think she's a good candidate. I am going by what comes out of her mouth-not her looks, her family, her career, her clothes, ..whatever.

Maybe John McCain misunderestimated women. Where's all the outrage about that?

You truly do live in a delusional world. Wow... Is this a requirement now? I mean seriously, there are intelligent conservative thinkers out there, right? Please?

You missed his point by miles!!!

Palin's not a real 'redneck' and no one in here has ever called her one until financeguy just did. For what that's worth.

If you are the governor of the State of Alaska, are impersonated by Tina Fey, fail to become the Vice President, and then quit your job ..... you might be a redneck.

/half-assed and generally lame attempt at outdated pop culture reference

Sarah Palin makes a mockery out of extreme liberals and is a slap in the face to all macho men and self-declared alpha males who can't bear the thought of a woman in the white house.

Do what you gotta do, Mrs. Palin. Don't let jealousy, sexism and the bastards grind you down.
