Reverse Trick Or Treating

In the past, I have done several posts about the horrific conditions that many children, especially in western Africa, are often forced to work in while they are exploited as child laborers to pick the cacao pods which contain cacao beans which end up as the chocolate that we use in everyday life.



To highlight this condition and to promote the idea of fairer trade with developing nations around the world which produce the cacao beans which turns into our chocolate, Global Exchange (along with several other reputable organizations) have decided to have REVERSE Trick or Treating events around the USA and Canada to raise awareness of the issues of fair trade and child exploitation as they relate to the chocolate that we use everyday - especially at Halloween.
