The word 'nasty' has its origins in the editorial cartoon. Christopher Nast was the first to draw them. Since they were so mean and original, people called them 'nasty'.

I think those flash animations are wic-ked. Is it just me, or did they load up reaaally quickly on the screen? I'm surprised; usually takes ages for me.
