Hey Jeff, do all these planes have those bouncy slidey ramp things that people can slide down to get out of a plane quickly or are they erected once emergency crews get to the site, ie not in this instance as there was no time? I imagine no matter how it's done, there'd be quite a bottle neck inside the interior where each suitable exit is, and amongst confusion and chaos with petrified people, manners are going to be forgotten for a bit. No doubt the staff did whatever they had to to get the people out, maybe not politely, but they all survived. They can make personnel complaints afterwards.

And we can one day get YOU to spell aeroplane correctly :sexywink:

Part of the requirement of aeroplane manufacturers to build planes that allow passengers to exit within 90 seconds is to have enough exits to get "X" number of passengers out of the plane in 90 seconds. Does that make sense?

I am not sure what the ratio of passengers to exits is.

IF the plane sits (with landing gear down) at a certain height, planes are required to have the inflatable slides.

It sounds if that the slides did not deploy properly in this incident...but this was a quote from a passenger.
