On Boston Legal this season they have a character who has objectphilia, she has relationships (don't know about sex, they haven't shown that

) with objects because she has extreme fear of intimacy with humans. It really exists, so maybe this guy has it.

okay, to be all Debbie Downer here, this is actually kind of awful.

he's going to have to register as a freaking sex offender. he's going to be treated no differently than child molesters and flashers and rapists.

it was an inanimate object. consent cannot be given, nor can it be required. how is it any different than, say, using a sex toy, or using a product that isn't intended for sex -- you know, crisco, lotion, kleenex, shower nozzels -- and using it for sex.

all laughter aside, i bet this guy isn't laughing.

Legally the issue isn't his choice of "partner," it's the fact that he knew the maids were coming in, yet continued to stand there with his goods on display humping the bike anyway. The article A_W posted doesn't mention it, but he also said something to the effect of "Whaddya want, hon" (without stopping what he was doing) even after they entered the room, so he clearly knew they were there. So it's somewhat like a public indecency charge, even though the novel twist of a bike being involved undoubtedly colored the court's perception somewhat.

So the offense that got him in trouble was to the maids not the bike?
