the most important thing gay people can do is to be out.

attitudes towards homophobic legislation change dramatically when someone actually knows a gay person and knows how, say, the from-Hell amendment that was just passed in Virginia will harm gay people living in VA (and how a certain pair of homos have decided that, despite how nice Alexandria (esp. Old Town) and Arlington are, VA doesn't deserve our tax dollars)

Like I've been saying Irvine, VA is shite, I'm tryin to get out of here. DC is the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be. ;)

by the way, my avatar does not agree with your sig.

ya know, A_Wanderer...I just had an idea. What if we do a contest? Like...we can set a deadline. And we go about our ways. I'll see how many people I can convince for a "change of heart" and you can do the castrating thing? Whaddaya say, you up to it?

I think both are valid methods. I can't say if one is definitely more effective than the other, but it would be fun to see how many people we can change. I mean this in all seriousness! I'm curious. We can keep tabs on each other.

I don't go out of my way to do it; im not that emotionally invested but if somebody starts crapping on about it being wrong I will go on a tirade about liberty and if they bring up religious justification I will justify atheism and anti-theism.

I will not judge you any different than any other person I meet in my lifetime.

So I can't answer your question with a yes or a no.
But I will say that I accept you as you are.

I just got done watching the Matthew Shepard story on A & E, it made me sick and sad to see that people are murdered for being gay.
I grew up with gays around me, some were my best friends.
My mother was bi-sexual and i learned to accept that sometimes, people just cant help who they love.
It would not be a way of life for me, but it doesnt bother me.

One thing i would like to ask those that oppose 'gay' lifestyles is
how many of you look at lesbian pornography...thats 'gay', right?

Not that anyone will be honest on here and come out and say 'yea, i hate/dislike/loathe homosexuality,
but i look at lesbian/gay pornogrpahy'.

But id really like to understand the mentality behind it.

How can you be for or against it? It's like asking if people are for or against being Asian or Jewish.

I agree with martha on this for once in my life.

It's not something to support. It's something to accept and respect.

It's because you hate Boomer right? Right?!

On a more serious note though, homosexuals are alright in my book. I've had a professor last semester who was out and proud and you know, he was one of the most intelligent human beings I've ever met and I was so glad I took his class. He bought out views that you wouldn't really get from another person and it just opens your mind up. I've also got friends who are homosexuals and they're just plain awesome.

I don't know how someone could be against people who they don't even know, but don't like due to their sexual preferences. I know the world's big enough for all sorts of people... it's just one of those things that boggle the mind. How we're supposed to be so evolved yet we still can't get past the simple little things.

It's nothing new to me...and by the way I am christian! And the fact that "people" posted some "replys" it bothered me a 'lill! But I really don't care....it's not like i didn't expect it.....all I've to say is...I'M GAY AND I'M PROUD! :madspit:

 Welcome to the forum! Please, don't be offended by some of our posts. I was in jest for some things, but if you look at some of my other posts, you'd know I'm definitely a supporter of gays and gay rights. That sucks that you're used to people being grossed out by your nature. I think you'll find the interference community here to be very welcoming. :)

Not one person commented "OMG she's bi ewww..." A few were perplexed that you started a new thread with the very same title (complete with misspelling) as a thread which still on the first page in FYM when you could have easily added your post to that existing thread. The only thing being "ewww-ed" was your posting skill.

A big mistake of newbies is to post something unclear and repetitive and then get all bent out of shape if the replies aren't what you were hoping for.

And a personal pet peeve of mine is misused quotation marks. But that's just me.

i'll only speak for myslef, but i am totally kidding around.

i am gay and proud too.

Ok lets get this straight...i could care less what you people said or think about me...and i never was "bent out of shape" and i know nobody said anything 'bout me...i never said they did!
So check it befor you go and twist my words around...if anything I'm happy to read your opinions....:censored:

What's the problem?
I've read the thread and there wasn't the slightest offence.

i can understand where "some" of you are coming from....iI mean, I'm used to people being like "OMG she's bi ewww..."

That's hard not to interpret the way that you aren't aiming at someone here.

Also, you asked whether people are for or against homosexuals.
Well, people gave their opinion, and in my life I haven't found one forum where the people are just giving a reply to the starter, but also got a bit offtopic, sometimes sarcastic, and often another discussion will come up.
Everything happened here.
If you are asking people whether they are for or against something and some peole say they are against it (which no one said here), it's a bit strange when you feel offended.

Maybe you didn't, but the way you're writing sounds pretty angry.

OOOOOOOOk.....If you say so!

You might want to read around this forum a little more before you start too many more threads. Get to know the people, how they are, how they react and think. I think you may be a little slower to take offense when there isn't any if you get to know us all a little better.

I'm all for homosexuality... People in this world should be more tolerating...

It's all nature, and therefore I have nothing against it :)
