hey why would a former actor run for governor of california? i mean it's not like a former actor who ran and became governor of california ever became president or anything... i mean come on

I also think he was one of the worst presidents we ever had, eclipsed only by Dubya, who really takes the cake for terrible presidents.

Over 300 people have taken out papers to run for govenor. This does not mean that they have actually applied to be on the ballot. This is nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Besides, if Coleman were govenor, every time he heard bad news, he'd reply "What you talkin' about Willis?"

I SO want him to win.

Though Different Strokes always makes me think of Lipton Ice Tea now because of the commercials. :uhoh:

gary coleman running for and winning this election is the next logical step.

considering that all it will take to be the next governor is a plurality...you could get 10% of the votes and win. :| The entire thing is such a farce.

now its getting sexywierd

from the globe and mail

Mr. Schwarzenegger is not the only actor in the California race. He joins porn star Mary Carey.

The 22-year-old blonde said her electoral platform would include taxing breast implants to generate revenue and hiring porn stars to help negotiate better wholesale electricity prices in the energy-strapped state.

She also wants to create a "Porno for Pistols" program under which gun owners would be urged to swap their weapons for X-rated movies in a bid to reduce violence in the free-wheeling Golden State.

Her competition for the X-rated vote is Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt, whose pornography empire is based in Los Angeles. He is neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but an outspoken libertarian whose campaign against censorship was turned into a Hollywood film.

Arnold is popular enough, I don't think this is so much a publicity stunt for him. Gary Coleman is just trying to get his name out there again... he will never live down "Whatchu talkin bout Willis?" :eyebrow:

Yeah, the world is still recovering from the Reagan years......

Yes, frankly, it is--everywhere from his redefinition of inflation to his 1986 tax plan, which, while was a great stimulus of short-term profits, has also led to the corporate instability we have currently.

What a wonderful world we have today. Local and state governments with no money, people who still feel like they are overtaxed, and a stock market that is little more than a slot machine.

Do they do the tv debate thing for these elections?

Seriously, can you imagine some guy is in a coma for 10 years, wakes up and switches on the tv and theres Arnie, Garry and Larry debating economic policy. And its for real. What the f*ck would you think? "NURSE! Wrong drugs!"

LOL, no kidding! I was wondering that about that man who'd been in a coma for, what was it, 19 years?

Man...this would be a shock for him. Especially considering that Arnold and Gary's careers were in the early days when he'd gone into that coma...wonder if he'd ever expected to see them around again?

Heh. That would definitely be interesting.

Things are not what they seem.

Gary Coleman's candidacy was sponsored and paid for by a California Bay area radio station as a protest to the recall effort. The radio station should have picked a different candidate. Coleman has no plans to campaign, supports the recall of Davis and has said he will be voting for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
