Find out what goes on with the companies you buy from
very resourceful, just type in a company name, and you can get loads of info on them:

very cool. i was just thinking about this actually when i read zoomerang's post in LS about brand of clothing.
Some people said that they wouldn't wear clothes to promote something they didn't like- and I couldn't help but wonder if they knew stuff like this (certain phone companies support child labor, etc..) ![]() what a line we all walk |

hmm...that is weird, Benetton being a rather large company and all. But they can only do so much at a time I suppose.
I did find some other things about Benetton tho: http://www.cleanclothes.org/companies/benneton.htm http://theearthcenter.com/sweatshops.html (I just typed 'Benetton' and 'sweatshop' into google basically lol) That is a primarily British label isn't it? I don't really see it brought up a lot in the states in regards to their labor practices now that you've mentioned it. |

This is very interesting. thanks for the link. I'm typing in all different companies.
One that is in there, is Forever 21, which actually was sued for deplorable working conditions and unfair labor practices in downtown Los Angeles. Very interesting story on Gap, Inc as well. That's pretty disgusting about their owning and the Redwood's. ![]() |

http://www.sweatshopwatch.org/swatch...statement.html if anyone's interested on reading up on that particular thing. I love the billboards ![]() Another company that you can type into Responsible Shopper and end up with nearly a whole book of problems is Proctor and Gamble, you name it, and they violate it lol And it's just a handy tool to see how many things are all owned by the same big corporation...You could go to the grocery store and buy all sorts of different items not even knowing all are owned by one big corp. |
