wow, spiral, you beat me to it. I just saw this story and was going to post as well and ask our Dutch interferencers what's going on over there.

The Dutch government has indeed fallen because of it's decission to send Dutch troops (Dutchbat) into Srebrenica to "protect" its citizens from the Serbs. A mission impossible in which other nations declined to participate for this very reason.

The NIOD report concluded that the Dutch government only offered to send troops in order to show off our new and improved army unit. This, and the fact that the Dutch army command had been trying to keep information from researchers during a previous cabinet caused the Dutch government to resign. Don't worry, elections will be within a month.

this is the most important reason the government did 'collapse'

the Bosnia massacre report is sufficient reason, still I feel they wouldn't have quit if elections weren't coming soon
they are just trying to 'keep their losses at a minimum'

they have backed up everyone who has made mistakes the past decade so they could have kept that going for a few more weeks
