Seriously....

Almost every thread in here these days is from the Drudge Report.

I expect more out of my FYM Family.....

Can we have a Drudge Free zone and expand our research base a little bit?

How else can we dodge issues if we can't play the "Drudge posted this - it must be biased" card?

so long as the VRWC is fully in effect, Drudge will play a prominent part in shaping the mainstream, corporate-influenced mass media by suggesting stories penned by Rove and of less-than-dubious veracity, then Rush picks it up, then other right wing radio show hosts, it will simmer for a bit, get kicked around by the bloggers, appear on the front page of the Washington Times with a screamingly incendiary headline, then Fox will report, then CNN will try to keep up and report, and then the NYT will report on what others are talking about.

and repeat.

noting the methods and intentions of a source is hardly dodging the issue; rather, it is engaging the issue, because all political stories on Drudge have been carefully selected for maximum beneficial impact for the Right Wing.

No, we sure don't.

NBC, your reply strikes me as a cop-out. There are plenty of substantive conservative publications and think-tanks out there.

The Economist (http://economist.com) and the Wall St. Journal at http://wsj.org (at least on economic issues) are unwaveringly conservative, too.

So now we *really* don't need Druge anymore that I've provided some links.

Cop out? Hardly. There are plenty of substantive issues addressed in the news.

Frequently, it doesn't matter if Drudge wrote the piece (rare) or merely links to a mainstream news source.

Failing to speak to the substance of an issue because the article was linked to Drudge is the cop out.

I guess my complaint is....this....I go to Drudge after coming to FYM and boom...we are becoming like Law and Order...ripped form the headlines in here.

More and more I feel like all we do in here is discuss DRUDGE linked articles.

I peruse Breitbart, but I find that Drudge links to their articles as well.

ah, but it's not the articles themselves, it's the slant (meta!) he gives the articles with their scremaing headlines in size 48 font and screaming sirens. it's the creation of perception before the article that is his genius.

also, he has better right wing sources than anyone else. they leak to him -- or the washington times -- so that he'll get whatever piece of news out there first, and slanted for maximum conservative spin.

it's almost beautiful, how well-oiled the VRWC is.
