demonstrating for peace

Yesterday afternoon I went to a demonstration for peace in the Middle East. My sign said "We want a cease fire". It was timed to coincide with a demonstration in Washington. The demonstration was organized by Pax Christi (a Catholic peace group of which I'm a member) and the Birmingham Peace Project, a group formed in opposition to the invasion of Iraq. The demonstration was smaller and more quiet than I had hoped. After the packed peace rally at the church I was imagining we'd have a better turnout. Oh well.

Yeah, that's the way I look at it. It was really hot out there and maybe people didn't want to get out in the heat. I went to the demonstration protesting the Iraqi invasion with a fever. There was no way I was going to miss that demonstration.
