How do you define soul? Is it your intelligence, your personality,
the sum total of you or is it an energy? Does the soul live on forever as a specific you or does it join the vast soul reservoir?
Is the soul unchanging or does it change with life experience (or lives experience, if you are a reincarnationist)? Does the soul need to retain consciousness of itself to remain a soul? Or do we hold on so tightly to an idea of a soul because we cannot accept the idea of death or the possibility that someday we and those we love may not exist? I believe in the soul, but I do not know whether I do so out of belief, faith or fear.
