While the States are saddled with such antihunting entertainers as Alex Baldwin, Pam Anderson, Mary Tyler Moore and the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, the down-but-not-out fox hunters of Great Britain have brought in some heavy hitting musicians to mount a pro-hunting concert in England.

Headlining the seven-hour show is legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. He'll be joined by Bryan Ferry, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and Nick Mason, Roger Daltrey of the Who and Mike Rutherford of Genesis and Mike and the Mechanics.

Clapton's publicist told reporters that while the rocker doesn't hunt, he is an avid shooter who disgrees with the government's efforts to interfere in people's private pursuits.

This is an issue where I don't believe either side has it completely right.

There is no necessity involved in hunting foxes. None at all,

What? We agree! Look out, the world's coming to an end!

Hunting is actually one of only 2 or 3 issues in which I part ways with the stereotypical conservative thought.
