CBC Sunday Night will never gain viewership in southern states

I actually find PBS to be quite different. It's more akin to something like TVO (TV Ontario), etc, and it's driven more by shows and documentaries and things rather than being a news channel in the spirit of the BBC (on which the CBC is modelled). The CBC is the closest thing you'll find to a Euro-style newsreporting channel on this continent.

And as for southerners - I've only ever had a nice time in the south in terms of how people treated us. There was one occasion where somebody in Georgia very loudly and slowly told my Mom that her English is "quite GOOD and how LONG has she been in this country?" (Nevermind she's teaching at one of Canada's top 5 universities....). But that's not a malicious type of ignorance.
