Cannot believe how that American cop acted......!

wow.......mum and I saw it on the news last night and we were like....

The way that cop slammed that boys head down.........and then had a chain round his neck and went and punched him............jaysus..........

then it showed that footage of the cops beatin up Rodney King again..........

the guy that took the footage said no matter what crime was committed, no-one should be treated that way by the cops.........

Im sure most of u know what Im talkin about.................. - hope so......

it truly was shocking to see................

Maddie-
Welcome to our Jungle.

Seriously-
Perspective is needed here:idea:

Before the event was being recorded..

What did the young fella do to provoke the officer?
Did he just blow the head off of a 98 yr old woman?
Did he spit in the officer's face?
Perspective.
or
Did the officer not get enough lovin from mama at home..making him a shitty day, or serve bad coffee at the local donut house..?

Lets not rush to judgement..

Well..the good thing about this incident is that people all over the world saw it...in the old days people in the next town wouldn't have even known about it...it would have been hushed up and a non-issue. The officers wouldn't be suspended...wouldn't even have been investigated...no one would have cared except the black community.

Now people all over see and care...the officer has been suspended and there is an investigation.

Some things are the same...some things have changed.

I have no idea why on earth anyone would want to be an inner-city cop in the United States, if you over-react to a situation you are persecuted, if you under-react you are lying on your back in the morgue

these guys have one of the most dangerous and most difficult jobs in the world, let's get all the facts before we sentence these fellars

Perspective - the sixteen year old boy's father had been stopped because his car registration had expired.

The police officer slammed the boy onto a car, punched him in the face and dragged him by a chain he wore around his neck.

Rep. Maxine Waters who represents the city in Congress has stated that she believed the attack to be racially motivated and called on the Attorney General to begin a Justice Department investigation.

I'm curious about what sort of news coverage this event has received in the United States?

the fact is that there is video evidence a policeman acted way too roughly

maybe if we know all the fact we would understand why he did it
it can't be condoned though
if there aren't strict boundaries to what you can and what you can't do within the limits of the law then what do we have ???

I do admit that there is no way I would want to be a police officer either

Apparently not the first time this police officer has beaten up a black man who had not been charged with any crime.

Yes, this same officer has also been accused of putting a man in a coma...also under suspicious circumstances. I will bet money that he will be fired and criminal charges will be filed. The people in that area are sick to death of this kind of treatment.

My husband is a former police officer from in that area and dealt with officers from the city of Inglewood on a regular basis. You don't even want to know what I have heard about the treatment of black "suspects".

I hope you were only half serious with this post Diamond...police officers are trained to keep their cool in these kinds of incidents. This was assault under the color of authority.

This was a traffic stop...the kid was simply being a kid, questioning the officer as to why his father was being stopped. Whether he got in the cop's face or not, the cop is supposed to be in control at all times.

yeah. although when they showed it here, they did point out that he had a huge scratch on the side of his face, which may have been from them throwing the first punch. however, the father and son maintain that they didn't attack him or anything, and the video doesn't show when they first got pulled over. so i think they're innocent until proven guilty.

Umm.
CNN just reported that the 16 yr old feller lunged at the officer prior to the taping.
I dunno Im kinda w Khan and Wanderer here.

Cant judge things by a video clip of a few seconds...:l
And remember its not like- the police indiscriminately beat the shit outta him for 20 mins.. he got pushed down hard on the back of a hood folks..for a second or 2 settle down.
He'll recover

The boy on the video was handcuffed when they beat him up. Whatever it was he did, the boy didn't pose a threat to anyone.

if that's true, then the police department really does have some explaining to do. for the cop to fight back is one thing, but for him to handcuff the kid and then start attacking is another thing.
