A decent thread, limited household use of the cheaper non-carcinogenic pesticide that deters mosquitos (in conjunction with other means of control). Large scale agricultural use of it and the environmental effects wound up inadvertently costing a lot of lives (if you blame industry rather than environmentalists people agree more).
