An example of liberal immaturity.

"Dubya"

A deliberate play on a man's middle initial. Calling him "W" would be understandable, but to call him "Dubya" is very childish. It just goes to show how some people will resort to name-calling when they have no arguments of any substance.

Do/did I ever call Ex-Prez Clinton 'Slick willie' / 'Bubba' / 'J-Dawg' or any lame name? No, he has a name and I called him by it.

Anyway, just an observation. If this applies to you, grow up.

Being political correct sucks.

Maybe Dubya should grow up first....

It is something that people can do without saying but ideological differences can make people say bad things with no apologies.

I don't understand what the fuss is all about. I could call him Dubya or W or Mr. President or darling, but that doesn't change the fact that I believe he is an idiot and a dangerous man.

Actually, I think Johnny Swallow is kidding. I call him Dubya, and I'm probably his biggest supporter of all time. I don't see anything wrong with that nickname.

You racist, homophobic, theocratic, right winger, when will you realize that it ONLY GOES ONE WAY?!?!?! And we U2 fans are not supposed to like President George W. "Dubya" Bush anyway. Bono said so.

I'm sorry, Swa-Lo, but I see this as an example of the swinging pendulum. Need I remind you of examples of conservative immaturity during the Clinton era?

1) 'Slick Willie'

2) Soon after his election, there were already 'Impeach Clinton' bumper stickers all over the place. I haven't seen one 'Impeach Dubya' (or likewise) anywhere.

3) The entire Whitewater-Travelgate-Monica scandals. Whitewater, admittedly, was a scandal worth investigating; but the rest were childish attempts to discredit him and stall the legislative process. Impeachment was ridiculous as well, especially knowing that, from the start, it would be voted on party lines.

4) Countless jokes about blow jobs and cigars.

So, you see, making fun of Dubya only on the basis of his name (although for me, it's only because I find it easier to say that, rather than George Bush, Jr.) and his incredibly poor grammar is only a natural pendulum swing from when conservatives endlessly made fun of Clinton.

Always keep the pendulum in mind when starting anything, as even in the French Revolution, those who guillotined the royal family were eventually guillotined themselves.

Ummm...excuse me, Melon...but let me remind you that the impeachment was not about
sex; it was about lying to a Federal grand jury, which by the way is something you or I would've been thrown in jail immediately for.

Well Wanderer/Melon, I see your points. But I still find it immature. I never implied that calling Clinton 'bubba' and crap like that wasn't immature, it was.

I have to say though, at least 'Dick & Bush' is funny. That one does make me laugh. I still do have a sense of humor for a black-heart.

Actually what most people don't know that Clinton getting sex from Monica was against the law since they were both working for the federal government and there is a federal law saying that saying that a person in the government can not sleep with someone also in the government who holds a lower position. They made this law so higher officials wouldn't pressure people in lower positions to do things they wouldn't want to do. So even for sex, Clinton should have been gone.

DrTeeth, the intent of such legislation was to prevent sexual harassment and pressure in the workplace; starting with the federal government (which would be enforcing such laws) so as to set a good example.

Why is it SO important for politicians, be they Republican or Democrat, to have affairs? It's almost like some of you are more concerned about their right to have affairs than you are for their duty to spend our taxpayer money wisely.

Melon,
Do we wanna do this again? I'm sorry but I can't resist.
My only comment for NOW would be that the "countless jokes about blowjobs and cigars" IS justified given the nature of the occurence(s).
There's plenty of jokes going around now about cocaine, alcoholism, language/grammar, daughters, and heart attacks.

YOU all will come up with plenty more before this term is up.

Yep, the partisan politics slamming will go on until the end of the world. I could do without it, but I guess it's human nature.

Pub Crawler,
You are absolutely right. (I just crawled back from a few pubs a little while ago myself)

The truth is, as somebody (maybe J Swallow) said, it's funny. Hell, I will say it, I find it all funny. As long as nobody gets hurt. There is a fine line, but the involved parties know this going into it. They are all humans who screw up and they will all be on somebodies' monolouge from time to time.
