I started following her in the wake of Baltimore. I thought she was really smart, savvy, a cool voice above the noise.

She is an active Trump supporter now. Her Twitter feed is a wasteland.

I'd be shocked if Rubio would sellout like that, but you never know. The only demographic that Trump has a shot with are young males. He has no chance winning over anymore Hispanics, women, or any other demographic. For all the demographics he expected to do well in, his numbers with young males/ educated males are abysmal(you and Bob might be the only two, lol). I'm just not sure if your party/or the antiestablishment right has anyone to do that anymore.

Of course all that being said I'm not sure if that helps electorally, especially not Florida.

I'm not sure why people tie me in with all that stuff that some of the crazy Bernie supporters. I was on the far-left before him and I considered his campaign dead after the New York results. His endorsement of Clinton means nothing to me because I'm not in it for Bernie. I was in it for his policies. Now I'll go vote for the person that best reflects those stances.

My dislike for Clinton remained at the same level throughout this campaign as it was before it began. She's earned the scorn with her record over the years.

No he doesn't. Young people are exceedingly liberal and it's been that way for decades. Trump may win with males in the fall (as to be expected), but he's going to lose with young males by a wide margin.

I don't reeeeeally buy that argument anymore. I think when you live in a bubble like I do at times it's easy to think that but there are a hell of a lot of racist, sexist, bigoted young people. It just looks better because they don't oppose same-sex marriage.

I don't know if you're being purposely obtuse?!

Context clues would tell you I was talking about how that's the only demographic where he can gain ground, not win.

To his defense, you said he "has a shot" with them. So as to suggest he has no shot with anyone else.

But only in the context of what a VP can bring to the mix, that's what we were talking about. Trump has destroyed relationships with all other demographics, I dare say he could bring on a Hispanic woman and still not win over any more than he has in both those demos.

Should it even matter now? Of course not. Only if you care more about superficial qualities than actual politics.
wait... really?

Just dropping the vagina word in with a lol predecessor to todays emojis to boot?!

And as someone involved in liberal/progressive politics since I was twelve (1965) (I'm 63 now) trying walk some kind of balance between idealism, pragmatism which things to draw a line at, which to to bend, when to possibility lose a fight to win a war etc etc.

Who as a social, a cultural, a political young activist who lived through the corriscating, firery
Hell
that was 1968 &1969 here in America - don't you dare call someone like me caring more about superficiality vs actual politics.

But, by gaining ground, it's really got more to do with young people just not bothering to vote, resulting in Trump getting a higher share than expected. I doubt he'll actually persuade any significant number to his column.

Having read some article with polling concerning young voters on NPR today, I'm positive that youth turnout is going to drop quite a bit compared to the previous two cycles. Clinton just does not excite people the way Obama did.

It's good that he has brought more people in! I like Bernie. Have had achance to lsten to him for several years on a former l/p radio "consortium" ut it's possible some of the the things he wants to do could not be done the way he's thinking of having hem enacted policy why.

Someone pointed out thatvw all the things he wants to would cost X trillions of dollars there weren't enough millionaires out there to tax them to get this amount. Unfortunately I couldn't get to read the full article or long post.

And besides all that Ben as a secular Jew, and then a (democratic) socialist would just wither too many votes away....
