Irvine, quite the contrary to Sanders pushing Hillary to the left, I'd suggest that - absent a few course corrections early on, last year - she's run right to discredit his entire agenda, and the concerns underlying it. Against free college tuition, against single payer healthcare (or what we in Australia call, funnily enough, Medicare).

I suppose 'healthcare is not a right' is at least more bluntly honest than the hoary old 'we can't have them socialist nice things because empire' (aka, we-protect-you-cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys).

I think he's raised issues that might not have been addressed, and she's gone to great lengths to say, "same goals, different paths." She is distinguishing herself from Scandinavian-style social democracy, but at least it's entered the conversation.

Yup.

I just don't get it, out of Florida. Who? There's 7 million registered red coats and independents in Florida. I have no idea where the population of that 45% is -- I've yet to meet a Trump supporter.

The interesting thing about Trump is he doesn't seem to be losing support if you look at the primaries or believe the media, but seems to be losing plenty of support if I look at the micro level of my life. He's lost 2 out of his 3 supporters in here, my Facebook feed that was once filled with Trump support has almost none, in fact it has now some outspoken conservatives speaking out against him, and his yard signs are being replaced with Rubio and Cruz signs around here at a fast pace.

Both of you, your polling methodology is flawed.

It seems a lot of people in here make arguments about what is going to happen or should happen from their own internal polling.

Jesus, my social media friends, work friends, neighbors probably have a collective opinion, I know they do. I also know it has little bearing on what will happen. I have my personal opinions and bias about this election, which I rarely post, I mostly analyze what I think the electorate will do when given a chance to weigh in.

Since August I have been saying Trump had a real shot a winning the nomination, each week his odds increased. And now, I am saying a Hillary - Trump race is not a cake walk for her. As for what this group or that group I associate with thinks? It does not matter. Who do I think would be the best president of the remaining candidates??

Without a doubt the best person would be Kasich. He is the most honorable and competent of the lot. Also, he has real world experience without the baggage or legal problems. At his core is a very decent person.

My polling methodology? I didn't poll anybody.

I didn't "internally poll" anything. I didn't "predict" anything. I made a statement that was more of being in shock.

I never once doubted the poll numbers. I think my posts have indicated that. I don't doubt polls are accurate, but I do think choice is subject to change. That's why polls from six months ago don't mean anything. Bush was still legitimate, Christie wasn't a total joke. Remember when Rand Paul led the pack? People's tastes change as things develop. I'm saying, two weeks away from the Florida primary, I'm shocked to see the reality. I don't know where these people are hiding.

They're not hiding, you just don't have a good feel for what a large portion of people of Florida think, based upon your location and who you interact with and what media you choose to read.

other news, Trump gets a heavy-weight endorsement, with more to follow

I'm aware that there are dumb people here. And everywhere. It's sort of hard, in the arguable biggest swing state, to "not have good feel for what a large portion of people of Florida think." We represent whatever the national opinion is, during election time. You seem fixated on the idea that I'm denying this, still.

I met plenty of Romney supporters. Plenty of McCain supporters. Some Rick Scott supporters. I'm very well aware of the political distribution of my state, and which areas contain what kind of people.

I know *where* these people are. But, unlike their loudmouth Prince Trump, they're not vocal. It's like a silent admitting at the moment. Everyone who is xenophobic but didn't quite wanna scream it out loud, so trump is doing it for them.

It's like the idea that "well, I didn't want to say it, but I'm glad *someone* did."

this is the reality, the GOP can very possibly win the Whitehouse with Trump
or most likely lose it with Rubio

the establishment and insiders that believe they know best and make or at least influence the decision want Rubio.

with Rubio, Hillary has at least a 58% chance of winning
with Trump, he has a 54% chance of winning, so for the GOP do you want a 54% chance or a 42% chance of winning??

but here's the thing, the establishment, Jeh's 100 million, the Koch brothers, Repub Nat Committee jerk bags, it is not on their hands for the most part, if it was we would not be here. Trump has something legit, people, millions and millions of people, he has working class democrats, that can swing this election. He will do no worse that Romney with the Hispanic vote and kill it in picking up votes from the 47% that Romney wrote off and also he will get more black votes than any other GOP candidate in years, and these things are the key to flipping 2,3 maybe 4 states for an electoral college win.

the handwriting is on the wall, it is not on social media, or your neighbors yard signs, or on Faux News, or in Rolling Stone or on Slate or BuzzFeed
or even reddit :yikes:

and the collective wisdom of some discussion forums I post on.

here's your problem, you don't know who they are are where they are

but they know who you are, or what you think of them, to dismiss fellow Americans as buffoons, why would they what to engage with an antagonistic person

Funny that you cite Rubio as the GOPs less likely candidate to beat Hilary over Trump.

Numbers currently do not suggest that.

look at your post from awhile back, when every one was saying Trump had no shot and Rubio was the guy or Jeb or whoever, I saw where this thing was going, again I know you are a heavy Rubio guy, well my preference in the GOP is Kasic, but we don't matter I am just calling these things the way I see them going, I have been right more often than many in here

two months(10 months) from now this post will be here, we can come back and see what has happened

since you like current polls, you do see that your "make a wish" boy's dream will burst in the FL primary

The Christie endorsement just changed the media focus away from the debate for today. He just sucked the air out of the media machine.

and the big guy has a loyal following in the GOP, some big funders, too (not that Trump cares, they just won't need to pour their money down a rat hole like the Jeb guys did)

just the momentum to roll on to with the Super Tuesday, Cruz gets a little win in Texas, to stay in long enough to have the Rubio people keep shitting their pants
and they will be chirping like baby chicks how well their boy Rubio did with any 2nd place or 3rd place win he gets, they will declare him 'the guy' instead of the loser, all the way until Trump piles up all the delagtes

just the fact that Rubio and his backers are statagizing for a brokered convention, and how they can finagle a nomination out of it is pathetic

they are declaring themselves losers, losers that want to steal a win
what would that do to them in the general election, Hillary had a legit argument to to that in 2008, she got more votes and won more delegates, if they did not halved the delegates in Michigan and Florida because those states jumped the order.

if for some reason it did get brokered, how could they not give to to the guy that got the most votes by a landslide, and the most delegates and won the most states??

these people are so fucking stupid

I'm not making claims that there was voter fraud based on my visit to my mom's church. I admitted it was just my small microcosm of my life. But you have to remember I live in Texas, and as I stated earlier the support for Trump was strong when all of this started and is almost zero now.
