The southern border is a huge national security risk. And yes it's been a problem for 30+ years. Right now a large portion of the electorate is focused on immigration and it's likely to dominate Thursday's debate.

I feel bad for the people and children at risk from human smugglers. Riding the beast train. Many lives lost along the way. The surge because the current administration is dangling that carrot of Amnesty.

The immigration system is a mess and it's not just a Latin American problem. We're taking refugees from the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. Some need our charity, but these are hotbeds of terrorism also.

There's a vast difference between hypothetical and actual reality though. And yet, on the right the hypothetical scary situation is being reported as if it is reality. Honestly? No, I wouldn't. I honestly don't care what either Preibus or Wasserman Schultz have to say. To me, the position of party chairman seems to be one of relatively little significance to the actual party.

Because it's not a serious question. Anyone that passed the 7th grade knows the real answer. It's a distraction; it was tried in 08 and it didn't work. The GOP needs to learn; if it didn't work then it won't work now, and don't double down on a lie.

If you really want to play with the Fox News version of this game you might want to be careful, because Trump would qualify as a socialist for suggesting tariffs and regulating outsourcing. Is that really the game you want to play?

I don't really think the word "liberal" means much of anything anymore, but most democrats do support an array of socialist policies in terms of wealth redistribution and state-sponsored welfare; I don't think that is debatable. What I don't understand is why the term "socialism" is so often seen as akin to Stalinist Russia.
