i continue to have disdain

if a voter will vote for someone on account of their race

as the WVA polls in the primary indicated that close to 10%* of HRC's voters did.

and for anyone who falls for false folky-ness.

why can't they just listen to John Denver, and then vote on actual policies that will make their lives better?

*i might be misremembering that, but it was something close to that and i have to make a very important phone call in 10 minutes so i don't have time to fact check myself

seems to be all they have left.

that, and racism.

i think it's utterly irresponsible for Palin/McCain to not calm down their crowds, who are seemingly ready to resort to violence.

this is actually something i worry about.

violence on Obama, or,

should Obama be up a solid 5-6 points in the polls going into the election

and then he somehow loses.

i would stay out of DC for a few days should such a thing happen.

It's true. Have you checked out the radio talk shows this week? That's all it is one long left conspiracy. It's hilarious, they all sound like paranoid nut jobs.

All the videos of the uniformed we've been seeing outside the Palin rallies, planted by the left.

The ones yelling "terrorist", planted by the left.

They're still saying Obama hacked into Sarah's email.

They wanted and planned the economic downfall.

They're literally going crazy over there on the AM dial...

Lib Photographer Admits Making McCain Look Sinister for Mag CoverBy NOEL SHEPPARD,

Media watchers are well-aware that it's not only words that can be used to spread propaganda, but oftentimes it's the pictures involved in the articles.

For months, people around the country have been noticing the always flattering photos of Barack Obama, and, by contrast, pictures that make John McCain either look older than what he is, or sickly...or even worse.

On Friday, the photography website PDNPulse published a virtual exposé about a professional photographer that admitted taking an intentionally diabolical looking picture of McCain that she hoped would be on the cover of October's Atlantic magazine (emphasis added throughout, photo courtesy The Atlantic, h/t NB reader Drew Hallowell):

When The Atlantic called Jill Greenberg, a committed Democrat, to shoot a portrait of John McCain for its October cover, she rubbed her hands with glee.

She delivered the image the magazine asked for—a shot that makes the Republican presidential nominee look heroic. Greenberg is well known for her highly retouched images of bears and crying babies. But she didn’t bother to do much retouching on her McCain images. “I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad,” she says.

However, that's not the picture Greenberg hoped the Atlantic would use:

After getting that shot, Greenberg asked McCain to “please come over here” for one more set-up before the 15-minute shoot was over. There, she had a beauty dish with a modeling light set up. “That’s what he thought he was being lit by,” Greenberg says. “But that wasn’t firing.”

What was firing was a strobe positioned below him, which cast the horror movie shadows across his face and on the wall right behind him. “He had no idea he was being lit from below,” Greenberg says. And his handlers didn’t seem to notice it either. “I guess they’re not very sophisticated,” she adds.

Here's the picture she wanted The Atlantic to use (courtesy PDNPulse):

Fortunately, they didn't. However, Greenberg, given her known political leanings, thinks it was wrong for The Atlantic to use her for this assignment:

I am a pretty hard core Democrat. Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.

Just how irresponsible? Well, if you go to Greenberg's website, which she calls "The Manipulator," and continue to hit your refresh icon, you'll see some truly disturbing pictures of McCain, along with some truly disturbing captions.

These include one that says, "I Called My Wife A C*** In Front Of Reporters," and another that was discussed in the PDNPulse piece:

[S]he goes on to explain that she’s thought about replacing McCain’s mouth with bloody shark teeth and displaying the image on a billboard with the message that the candidate is a bloodthirsty war monger.

Keep on hitting refresh at the front page of her website, and that picture will appear.

And this is the woman The Atlantic hired to take a picture of McCain for the cover of its October issue.

Isn't that special?

Thousands of voter registration forms faked, officials sayStory Highlights
Liberal activist group filed 2,000 fraudulent voter forms, Indiana officials say

CROWN POINT, Indiana (CNN) -- More than 2,000 voter registration forms filed in northern Indiana's Lake County by a liberal activist group this week have turned out to be bogus, election officials said Thursday.

An official enters the Las Vegas, Nevada, ACORN office, which is under investigation for alleged voter fraud.

The group -- the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN -- already faces allegations of filing fraudulent voter registrations in Nevada and faces investigations in other states.

And in Lake County, home to the long-depressed steel town of Gary, the bipartisan Elections Board has stopped processing a stack of about 5,000 applications delivered just before the October 6 registration deadline after the first 2,100 turned out to be phony.

"All the signatures looked exactly the same," Ruthann Hoagland, a Republican on the board. "Everything on the card filled out looks exactly the same."

The forms included registrations submitted in the names of the dead -- and in one case, the name of a fast-food restaurant, Jimmy Johns. Sally LaSota, a Democrat on the board, called the forms fraudulent and said whoever filed them broke the law. Watch how dead people are turning up on voter registration forms »

"ACORN, with its intent, perhaps was good in the beginning, but went awry somewhere," LaSota said.

Over the past four years, a dozen states have investigated complaints of fraudulent registrations filed by ACORN. On Tuesday, Nevada authorities raided an ACORN office in Las Vegas, Nevada, where workers are accused of registering members of the Dallas Cowboys football team. And the group has become the target of Republican attacks on voter fraud, a perennial GOP issue.

A subsidiary of the group was paid $800,000 by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign to register voters for the 2008 primaries, and ACORN's political wing endorsed Obama back in February. But Obama's campaign told CNN that it "is committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process," and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election.

Brian Mellor, an ACORN attorney in Boston, said the group has its own quality-control process and has fired workers in the past -- including workers in Gary. But he said allegations that his organization committed fraud is a government attempt to keep people disenfranchised. Watch more about this investigation »

"We believe their purpose is to attack ACORN and suppress votes," Mellor said. "We believe that by attacking ACORN, they are going to discourage people that have registered to vote with ACORN from voting."

CNN was unable to reach ACORN officials in Gary and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the group's Indiana operation is based. Offices in both cities were empty when reporters visited.

Lake County elections officials have set aside all 5,000 of the ACORN-submitted applications in what Hoagland called the "fake pile" for later review. But she said every one will be reviewed before the election to make sure no legitimate voters are skipped.

There has been no evidence of voter fraud yet, because voters have yet to go to the polls. But elections officials say they will be sending their information to prosecutors, who will determine whether any investigation will begin.

"We have no idea what the motive behind it is," she said. "It's just overwhelming to us

The Atlantic is a center-right magazine. They made a mistake in hiring this woman.

Maybe you guys should spend less time coming up with conspiracies and focus more on correcting these mistakes you make...

It's downright immoral when anyone tries to cheat the voting system.

And of course there's always the Reuters photo that ran in newspapers and online news services around the world.

The "Age of Obama" indeed.

Damn, the media likes Obama.

I guess that means I shouldn't vote for him for President.

To quote John McCain: "Life isn't fair."

People need to grow a sack and quit trying to play the victim card.

Here we go, Republicans are starting to jump off the Titanic...

Quote:
He endorsed John McCain in the presidential primary, but now former Republican Gov. William Milliken is expressing doubts about his party's nominee.

"He is not the McCain I endorsed," said Milliken, reached at his Traverse City home Thursday. "He keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?' I would ask the question, 'Who is John McCain?' because his campaign has become rather disappointing to me.

"I'm disappointed in the tenor and the personal attacks on the part of the McCain campaign, when he ought to be talking about the issues."

...

"I know John McCain is 72. In my book, that's quite young," said Milliken, 86, Michigan's longest-serving governor. But he added, "What if she were to become president of the United States? The idea, to me, is quite disturbing, if not appalling.
More!

Quote:
Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican U.S. senator from Rhode Island, said he's voting for Obama and urging others to do likewise.

McCain campaigned for Chafee's unsuccessful re-election bid in 2006, but Chafee said he is concerned McCain has swung to the right, a divisive strategy that could make it difficult for him to govern.

"That's not my kind of Republicanism," said Chafee, who now calls himself an independent. "I saw what Bush and Cheney did. They came in with a (budget) surplus and a stable world, and look what's happened now. In eight short years they've taken one peaceful and prosperous world, and they've torn it into tatters."

As for McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his running mate, "there's no question she's totally unqualified," Chafee said.
More, more!

Quote:
Chafee said he has spoken with several other moderate Republican leaders, and "there are a whole lot of us deserting."

One of them is Phil Arthurhultz, a former Republican state senator from Whitehall, who was traveling the state with Chafee to drum up support for Obama.

Bob Eleveld is a former Kent County Republican chairman who led McCain's West Michigan campaign in 2000. This year, he has remained mum unless asked.

"I'm not supporting either of them at this point," he said. "Suffice it to say there are a number of people who have been strong Republicans in the past, including party chairs, who feel as I do."

He declined to name them.

In the past, McCain was more of a moderate known for his straight talk, Eleveld said.

"I think the straight talk is gone," he said, describing himself as a member of the party's moderate wing. "I think he's pandering to the Christian right. That's some straight talk from me."

John McCain: Guilty by Association
A look at McCain's friends and supporters draws questions about his honesty, judgement, and patriotism

Quote:
John McCain is being supported by Communists. Tran Trong Duyet, the former head of the notorious Hoa Lo prison aka "Hanoi Hilton," has endorsed McCain.

What did they talk about during John McCain's five year stay in communist North Vietman? What is their relationship? Where have they been meeting in the years since the Vietman war? All these facts are very curious.

It is apparent that McCain has not been been truthful about the full extent of his relationship with Tran Trong Duyet. What is McCain hiding?

John McCain has some explaining to do the American people - and he better do it fast. Otherwise the communist terrorist label on McCain is going to stick.
Yes, let's play this game!
