16th anniversary of Chernobyl
Just thought I'd let you know. I'm actually doing a school project about nuclear power and Im going to talk about Chernobyl and Sellafield.

My friend lives even closer than me. He just moved to Oshawa and he says they teach people about iodine pills and stuff. Scary.

The saddest thing is that I grew up in such a sheltered area. A Catholic school board in the suburbs. I don't even know what Chernobyl is. I've heard of it. I can't say that I know what it's all about. Most of the people I know here (university) are the same.
Sad that we grew up in an era that did this to us. My little sister is in the 6th grade. She mentioned the Holocaust to her class. More than half of the kids didn't know what the Holocaust was. |
