1000's of former Iraqui solders walking thru N. Iraq

I'm watching CNN now...they're showing 1000's of former Iraqui soldiers, walking a long a road in northern Iraq, supposedly toward the direction of Baghdad (about 100 miles away). Some of them have said they left their posts days ago, during the heavy bombing. Several of them are barefoot. They're still not sure who exactly they are.

They are interviewing some of them now on CNN...they fled several days ago. They are mostly Shiites from Southern Iraq.

What a fascinating sight this was. They were planning on walking for at least 7 days to get home. I hope CNN's report will cause some vehicles to find them and give them a ride (and provide food and water).

Imaging, having to walk 7 days to get home with no personal belongings (ID, money, etc.), only the clothes on your back.....

Gosh, these guys need help. I hope they get it. That's an awfully long walk.
