I always use duct tape to repair my flip flops after I've walked a hole through them (usually by the end of summer). I was going to wear my most ragged flip flops to graduation (hey, those have been all over! 3 U2 shows--Cleveland, South Bend, Chicago, as well as throughout Memphis including Beale, Sun Studio, and Graceland), but my friend Laura, who took graduation waaaay too seriously freaked out. I believe her exact words were "YOU ARE NOT WEARING DUCT TAPED FLIP FLOPS TO YOUR COLLEGE GRADUATION!!!!" Alas, I borrowed some quality shoes from a friend for the occasion.
