I'm curious, when did this trend of using netspeak become popular in song titles? I know back in the 90s, most of Usher's songs were "U" instead of "You" but was he the first or was there someone else?

On the other hand ... I was in a car with a guy. He was flipping through the radio stations and we came upon the song "Before he Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. I mentioned I liked it ... well not so much liked it as much as I identify with her rage.
