As I was reading about Japanese revisionist historians, the censorship of textbooks, and interational and domestic debate over their content (particularly regarding wartime actions) in America, Japan, and Germany, I began to wonder: has anyone seen anyone wearing stirrup pants lately? Anyone under the age of 40. And in urban areas. With the return of legwarmers (albeit in a different form from their 80s counterparts), mesh tops, off-the-shoulder tops, flourescent hot pink, floral prints, and frilly mini-skirts in the past year is there a place for stirrup pants in modern society?
