meegannie, do you know if the US version of Remote Part has any extra songs or anything?

Hmmm....all three albums are different. The first two are VERY screamy punk. The second is still a little more rock, but the lead singer figured out he can sing (and sounds sort of like Michael Stipe). The third one still has some rock moments, but their sound is a little bit different, and he's kinda found his voice a little more (and you can hear his Scottish accent.... ). The best part, though, is the lyrics. Roddy Woomble's parents were English professors, so he's very literary, which is appealing to nerds like me. :)

I dislike screamy punk a lot but mayhaps I'll check out their latest album

Actually, 100 Broken Windows (their third, but I just noticed that I screwed up and skipped their fist album) is really good as well. Not screamy.

I listened to 100 Broken Windows like every single day for a year. No lie. That album & Remote Part are absolutely fantastic. They became one of my favorite groups with 100 Broken Windows and blew me away with Remote Part.

Hope is Important has some great songs on it too, but average U2 fans would probably be put off by some of the others.

:hyper: :combust: :faint:

Since your breathing, is it all that a space can fill?
So just by looking in, I?ll be looking still
You find and follow stories well
You?re naked except for a newspaper, the headline telling me
That fortune favours the brave
I?ve been known to be that brave
What I want is on it's way out
All I needed was an easier way to stay

Walking around the city as the light fades (is it all that you remain?)
I?m thinking about each promise that I have ever made

But I know what they will never say, I know what they will never say
Century after Century they remain

And if I read to remember that the entire Earth is outside this room
So close the windows, keep the curtains shut forever
And if I need to remember that the entire Earth is outside this room
So close the windows, close the windows

Isn?t it romantic, to be romantic
When you don?t understand what you love
Or if a word like that couls ever mean anything
When what you want is on it's way out
I didn?t hear cheerleading for creative writers
And your cheekbones don?t taste of anything at all
It?s on it's way out, it?s just an easier way to stay

Talking about a city that the light made (is it all that you remain?)
It?s the same story that?s been told
But it?s been stories that don?t fade

I know what they will never say, I know what they will never say
Century after Century they remain

Is it all that you remain?

I woke up first this morning
I?ve never seen the dawn
But I know what the world looked like before
How would I know what you said?
You?re always first to go to bed
You?re intent on sleeping it off

Let me sleep, next to the mirror
I know you don?t like mirrors
When they reflect on you

For every word that you write
They won?t mean much as barricades (They hold me down)

I?m sure that you?ll be fine
Ten more years of this
It will nearly be time
I?m sure that you?ll be fine
It can?t take ten more years

You woke up first this morning
You told me that you had a bad dream
Like one never before
What was in it?
My reflection showed that I?m far too critical

Let me sleep next to the mirror
Don?t tell me that you don?t like mirrors
Don?t tell me that you don?t like
Looking right through your own reflection

For every word that I write
They won?t mean much as barricades (They hold me down)

I?m sure that you?ll be fine
Ten more years of this
It will nearly be time
I?m sure that you?ll be fine
But it can?t take ten more years

Yes, zoney, you need to hear their stuff. You will have SUCH a good time at the show. It's all jumpy and crazy and fun and I wanted to take them home and have them play a gig in my living room every day.
