now that I have your attention

*ahem* clears throat

Music happen to be the food of love
Sounds to really make you rub and scrub

I say: Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance

somebody stop me

somebody actually likes that song...wow..small world....well now there's no stopping me so look out...thar she blows...

It was a cool and lovely breezy afternoon
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
You could feel it 'cause it was the month of June
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
So I left my gate and went out for a walk
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
As I pass the dreadlocks' camp I heard them say
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)

Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance

So I stopped to find out what was going on.
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
'Cause the spirit of Jah, you know he leads you on
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
There was a ring of dreads and a session was there in swing
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)
You could feel the chill as I seen and heard them say
(How does it feel when you've got no food ?)

Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance

'Cause me say listen to the drummer, me say listen to the bass
Give me little music make me wind up me waist
Me say listen to the drummer, me say listen to the bass
Give me little music make me wind up me waist, I say

Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
It a gonna burn, give me music make me jump and prance
It a go done, give me the music make me rock in the dance

A so me know you a go play it on the disco
A so me say we a go hear it on the stereo

Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side
Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side

Will you be my friend guaca? no one else even knows who musical youth are!

Did you know they all went to jail when they grew up? Apparently anyway, might not be true :D

who said that

what are their names....Ill go find em and pelt em with my peanut collection..not know who Musical Youth was...come on..how old are these people? Oh yah..I keep forgetting they probably weren't born back then...:|

Musical Youth yah...I know of which you speak..they split up in 85, and one of them was in jail when he died but that was later like in early 90's or something.....

that song was originally called Pass the Kutchie...replacing the marijuana related 'Kutchie' with 'Dutchie', which means cooking-pot...

just in case you were wondering.....:eyebrow:

 will you be my neighbour

:lmao:

All this time I thought Dutchie was referring to pot :D I knew it means cooking pot as well, but thats just poetic licence...What a darn cool song.

Guaca you've forced me a lovely trip down old memory lane here.

Lets live next door to each other and swap 'music from youth' stories.

do you remember thinking this

ok, when you first heard that song did you think to yourself....

Mash de duppy 'pon de lef' han' side

what the heck does that mean??

Hahaha I actually thought it was some smoking ritual where it would be passed around to the left, them standing in a circle facing each other. Thats how I visualised the song anyway :D

time to switch

yup Im switching topics altogether..oh just because..its that type of day.

Lesson Number One
*****************
A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day.

A small rabbit saw the crow, and asked him, "Can I
also sit like you and do nothing all day long?"

The crow answered "Sure, why not."

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.

All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high
up.

now you went and did it..

*psst Angela come here for a sec*

..here hold this....[grabs Boomchaa's head and bends over]
there now you are gonna get it....whacks Boomchaa on the head with her cane.....ouch..whoa....damn kids....look what they went and did now....broke a perfectly good cane...:eeklaugh:
