My vaccum is pretty sucky, too... And I'm a vaccuming freak, so it ticks me off that after I do it I have to go around and pick up little pieces of dirt off the carpet.

We have wooden floors in the living room (thank God) so it's not a problem. We're lucky in that the floor is heated. At first, I thought not having carpet would be a nuisance, but it actually makes cleaning the living room much easier.
Although I must admit - my boyfriend and one of our housemates usually clean the house while the rest of us are at work on Saturdays... so for all I know, the wooden floor could be just as much of a pain in the arse as a carpet!
