i've never had scabies (or lice for that matter), but my sister did about a year ago.

I got lice last year from a kid I was babysitting. He would crawl all over me and his mom didn't give a shit to clue me in. You can bet how impressed I was.

One of the cures for scabies is listed as malathion. If your doctor recommends this be really careful, actually I would be questioning this if it were me. Malathion is not a very stable molecule and as it breaks down, forms four toxic impurities which are considered (in Aus) as harmful to people and have resulted in this product being taken off the market here.
