Thank god I still have a 2002 mobile... At least back then people still knew that all you really want is a small phone that can call and do text messaging WITHOUT all the polyphonic-realmusic-ringtone-mega-pixel-camera-GPRS-UMTS-bling-bling-porn...

My phone is old...and my boyfriend has a really cool wonderiffic fancy phone, and he's technologically challenged. It's not fair.

i recently (finally) got a cell phone

i never wanted one before because i knew i'd become a slave to it

and i was right

 Once you get a cell phone, you forget what the hell a landline's for. Man, I'm stuck to mine... although not willingly, that damned thing gets so hot it sticks.

:: Shakes cellie off ::

I was so late to the cell phone scene that my first cell phone had a full color screen. My new one has a higher resolution screen and a built-in camera.

I got mine in about 96 as well. Analog (or was it the other one? lol) was banned not long after. I was on a $10 plan back then
I now have a new MOBILE, and now as in today, a mere 8 weeks after I got it, I've learned how to use the T9 thing...That writing thing which makes all texting proper and no c u l8r bullshit.

My MOBILE is going to write a novel one day.

My sister still has her cell phone/brick that she bought in 98 :)

And it still works better than mine which I bought two months ago

:lmao: That has pretty much been my experience too! Ever since they did away with analog and went to digital I feel like I'm on a walkie-talkie. My husband and I actually say "Over" when we end our sentences because if the other starts talking too soon, you can't hear anything. :giggle:

As for cell phone over-usage...I went to Ashlee Simpson's show in Feb and everyEVERY single girl there was texting all night long. (It made Bono's call for cell phones during One look pitiful. ) Being 27 and the only person outside of high school that was not a chaperone, I felt totally out of it, yet happily so. And before anyone says anything, YES I went to see Ashlee Simpson and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Predictive text is brilliant.

I love it when you say MOBILE like that, Angie

Lara...I sold my soul. I feel awful. For the first time in 10 years, I dont own a Nokia. It's a Siemens.
But it is red, and does have many pretty Rip Curl pictures of semi naked men riding on long stiff boards which I can make my wallpaper and I got a great Rip Curl bag with it (this makes my selling to the devil even worse for corporate whorisation) and it's very small and....

...vacuuming the family
