Thanks to Sicy & Bonosloveslave for letting me know about this problem, after hearing me complain all my photos were gone, too.
However. Upon contacting snapfish
I got this email:
Dear Snapfish Customer,
Thanks for writing about your online photos. Your
album or albums were removed because your account
went inactive after there were no orders placed
from that account for one year. We notified you
twice about your pending account inactivation (30
days prior to and then 10 days prior to) by
emailing you at the address on file with your account.
The email notices asked that you either send in
film or make a purchase online within 30 days to
keep your account active and your photos online.
Since action was not taken, and we received no
responses to those emails, we could only assume that
you were no longer interested in using Snapfish.
According to our storage policy, we will store
your photos online as long as your account is
active. To keep your account active, you must make a
purchase at least once every 12 months. A purchase
can include sending in film, or buying photo
products online through our website (prints,
enlargements, photo CD, 4x8" photo cards, photo gifts).
Please note that purchases from our partners
(iPads, CardStore.com, RitzCamera.com) do not qualify
as re-activating purchases. For more information
on our storage policy, please visit:
http://www.snapfish.com/helpstorage
We are sorry but the albums we deleted as a
result of inactivation cannot be recovered. If the
email address on file with your Snapfish account is
one you don't check on a regular basis, we
recommend updating your email address to avoid missing
any future account notices. You can update your
email address by logging in and clicking the "your
account" link in the upper right corner of most
pages. Or you can use this link:
http://www.snapfish.com/youraccount
Please note that you can continue to use your
Snapfish account. We have not closed or cancelled
it, so we hope that you'll return to Snapfish for
your future film or digital photo needs. If we can
be of any further assistance, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Dee

I don't remember receiving any stupid Snapfish emails (and if they had perhaps they should only send important ones rather than stinking spam so I'll read the important ones!) And I swear I only opened an account with them sometime last Feb/Mar- not November! Anyway..
