What if U2 had put out Zooropa as a 6-song EP rather than an LP, as originally planned? What do you think should've made the cut? Here's my list...

I have a magazine article (snippet) from early '93 that mentioned the EP would probably consist of 5 tracks including recorded songs:

Babble/Zooropa
Babyface
In Cold Blood
a possible collaboration with Johnny Cash

It also mentioned that Bono was a bit concerned about the lyrical content of In Cold Blood but Edge loved the epic sounds (whatever that meant).

Don't get your panties tied in a knot....if you would recall, Zooropa was originally intended to be and EP.

If you would prefer, this thread could be re-titled CHOOSE YOUR 6 FAVORITE SONGS FROM ZOOROPA, or someting far less "contoversial" like that.

Haha, yeah...yikes. I just read the original post and replied to it! In my list I basically picked the most far out songs, but Stay had to be there plus The First Time is the perfect ending. Dirty Day is fantastic(especially live), but it it's more of a traditional rock song compared to the rest.

I guess great minds think alike.

agreed. Well, maybe not the best, but I love it anyway

those are imo the six best tracks on Zooropa and would have made one helluva an EP...The First Time is the perfect closer. However it pained me to not put Daddy's Gonna Pay on there and I'm very happy that Zoorpa ended up as an album and not an EP and I don't think HMTMKMKM, good as it is, really goes with the Zooropa sound. It's more like Pop.

I love the lyrics to In Cold Blood...they're the most shocking Bono's ever done. Would have loved to see U2 release that one. But I think In Cold Blood sort of evolved into Numb? Numb doesn't seem really "epic" to me but I think I've read that somewhere...
