From U2log.com:

Journalist Neil McCormick reports on the first full playback of the new U2 album in today?s Telegraph. (reg.req)

He writes: ?It is a big album, full of big ideas, delivered with beginner?s energy and veteran?s craft.?

A return to the raw energy of boy, but with the experiences of a life fully lived?

excellllent....

What is kind of funny about all this is that I highly doubt the tracklist for this album has been set in stone yet. I think this is the process the band are at now.

I just about leapt off my seat. That is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear!

Were any of you Irish listeners tuned into the Dave Fanning show last Tuesday night (20.07.04) around 6:30pm.

He had some DJ guy on reviewing the week's new single releases who has an appartment close to the Hanover Quay studio. He said that he's overheard the new album for months now. He described it as sounding like "very early U2".

When Fanning mentioned "The Unforgettable Fire" as a time period he reponded "earlier probably".

I dont believe we're going to get an ATYCLB 2. We could be in for a War 2. Or should that be War II.
