Yahoo & GOP Exec To Lead Bono's Global Aid Group
(AP) SAN FRANCISCO The ONE Campaign, the nonprofit launched by U2 frontman Bono that's dedicated to fighting global AIDS and poverty, has tapped a prominent Republican strategist and an outgoing Yahoo Inc. executive to serve as co-chairmen on its board of directors.

Jack Oliver recently worked as an adviser and strategist for the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2004, and Yahoo Chief Operating Officer Dan Rosensweig will leave the company in March as part of a management shakeup announced earlier this month.

Both men bring a wealth of management and strategy experience to the campaign, the group said in a statement.

"Jack and Dan are two of the country's best political and tactical minds," said Susan McCue, the incoming chief executive officer of The ONE Campaign. "I look forward to joining forces with them in our grassroots campaign to bring the fight against global AIDS and extreme poverty to the forefront of today's political arena and 2008 Presidential cycle."

The group says it has grown to 2.4 million supporters from all 50 states and 100 of the country's leading humanitarian and other organizations in just two years.
