the rules are pretty easy. this is for worst song U2 survivor. this means you vote OFF your FAVOURITE song. the goal here is to see what is the least-liked U2 song for each album, and narrow it down to least-liked song ever.

ROUND ONE (BOY):
- i will follow
- twilight
- an cat dubh
- into the heart
- out of control
- stories for boys
- the ocean
- a day without me
- another time, another place
- the electric co.
- shadows and tall trees

you are to vote based on the studio version of that particular song. do not vote based on how it sounds live or how it sounded remixed.

timing of the poll: there are so many rounds, it really makes sense to keep each individual round as a timed ONE day poll. when we get to the end of each round, the final poll will last two days, to give more people a chance to vote.

ties will be broken by eliminating both songs from the poll UNLESS we are in the top five. even if there are three tied, all three will be eliminated. any more of a tie (four-way tie, etc.), then we will have a tiebreaker round.

also, when we get down to the final round (the winner of each previous round going against each other), these polls will last two days. the same tiebreaking rules apply.

remember, vote for what you consider to be the strongest song, or your favourite. this competition is to determine the WORST U2 song.

Tossed and tossed between Twilight and The Electric Co. Ultimately, my vote went to The Electric Co.

i can't seem to find my 7"s though. i guess they're at my parents' house or still boxed up.

*dies of envy*

So, how'd you like to give those to me? You get a gigantic, glorious nothing in return!

:lmao: how about no

but when you're in memphis i could point you in the direction of the second hand shop i bought them in. they had quite a bit of U2 and i didn't pick it all up, plus i'm sure they've received more since then. (last time i was in there was a year ago!)

Oh, c'mon! It's the offer for the ages! Really, does anyone out there want a gigantic, glorious nothing to call their very own? Just give me something - I'll take just about anything! - and that's what you'll get in return! Yeah, I'm so generous, giving away a glorious nothing to absolutely anyone who wants it!

Ooooh! :hyper: Here's hoping I have enough money left as spending money!

*votes for Out Of Control*

*eagerly awaits Achtung Baby, Rattle & Hum & Pop LP's coming in the mail*

Axver, I could point you in the direction of a U2 obsessed record/tape/cd shop right in you're very backyard that I was at on Wendsday. It was aweeeeesome. (I counted 6-7 posters on the wall).

:lmao: you can have my copy of mysterious ways. i know how much you love that era

I'll take anything! Would you believe I have only one eighties single? The majority of my U2 singles are from the nineties/2000s.

Ooooh, where might I find it? I'm only familiar with a few chain retailers who are - obviously - not that great.

It's on the Gold Coast, I found it relatively close to Jupiters (my point of reference  ), I have the card sitting at home, when I get home I'll email you off the details. I'm sure you will have a nice time in there.

You can buy me the 1980s-1990s Best Of of LP in there as a thank you:wink:

I'm about fifteen minutes inland from Jupiters, depending on the traffic, so that shouldn't be too far. If I'd known you were on the Coast, I would've offered to be a tour guide - wait, actually, I've been here 7.5 years and even the tourists know the place better than me, so forget that. And ha, you finding a good music shop just goes to prove that point. I'd actually given up on finding anywhere worthwhile ...

Too late now! *laughs evilly*

*sneaks into your house and takes a few singles ... oooh, 11 O'clock Tick Tock ...!*

Maybe we should start a vinyl appreciation thread.

Only 1 80's single!!! What kind of fan are you.

I saw a couple of copies of the 12" UF single up in Brisbane and I thought of you're unrelenting obsession with that single. Convinced me not to buy it. Bought my 5th copy of Ture Colours instead
