I was going through some old Sports Illustrateds, and came across an interesting column from writer Rick Reilly. He created the 'Mount Rushmore' of every sport, featuring who he considered to be the four greatest players in each. For example, his Hockey Mount Rushmore included Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Vladislav Tretiak and Gordie Howe.

This got me to thinking; if there was a rock music Mount Rushmore, who would be on it? In my opinion, it would have to be Bob Dylan/Elvis Presley/Paul McCartney/John Lennon.

Adam: Look guys, I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection.
Edge: Oh boy, here we go...
Bono: Wow, how many is that now Adam?
Adam: Nine. If I didn't have my spoons, I'd go insane.
Bono: Can I see it?
*adam gives bono the spoon, bono throws it away*
Adam: My spoon!

They weren't MY hockey picks...they were Rick Reilly's.

Well, music's been round for an awfully long time. Even if you narrowed it down to popular music, you'd still have to find a place for Frank Sinatra at least, even if you don't particularly like him (and I don't).

Of course if it's just rock and roll, then:

Elvis Presley
John Lennon
Bob Dylan
Lou Reed

This is no comment on my own personal enjoyment of any of the above musicians.
