Bruce Brody has been joining U2 on stage playing piano during "Please". I really like the piano and think it adds a beautiful touch to the song!

but....

Who is Bruce Brody? What's his relationship to the band?

Except for special guest stars or occasional fans brought on stage for "People Get Ready" etc... I don't remember a musician having a reoccurring spot during a U2 song. And Bono hasn't really introduced him in concert.

Just curious y'all....

I figured the interferencers would know the scoop!

He's a professional keyboardist. He's worked with a pretty bigname band I think but I don't remember which.

It appears Bruce Brody is a musician who adds his piano and other skills to various productions:

I'd never heard of him either, but he has a nice name...Brody, a name for a boy.....
He certainly has a good resume there, lucky/talented man.

Actually I have read somewhere that Bruce Brody used to be in a band called Lone Justice who in turn had supported U2 on the Joshua Tree (European leg) tour. I have seen the same band live twice on that leg.

You'll see that the lead singer of Lone Justice was Maria McKee which is listed above. Obviously, Lone Justice is no longer around but Maria McKee had for a time been a solo singer and I dont know if she's still doing it..... As for Bruce, I have no idea what hes currently doing apart from a spot with U2 of course......

hope that explains a bit more about Bruce.....

cheers my dears!

Sphinx ...if bono was faking playing keys...it would sound a lot better...you clearly have NO idea wtf you are talking about.

It is perhaps of note that Maria McKee has joined U2 on stage (during the Lovetown tour I believe).

Ive heard the name before but I cant put a face to the name.....and Sweetest Thing isnt exactly the most difficult thing to play even Bono can pull that off...

Good though to see Wild Honey added once in awhile to the setlist.....might be the next single who knows.
