Remember when records used to be divided into sides when they were released on vinyl and cassette? Well, which 'side' do you think is U2's strongest to date? Generally speaking, I think the first five songs on a 10-11 song CD constitute one side, and the rest the other(the only exception to this is ATYCLB which is 6 and 5 I think), and 12-song CDs are divided into 6 and 6. I think those are the correct divisions, but you can correct me if I'm wrong. This is a listing of all the sides in the U2 studio catalog according to the divisions I just outlined. R&H is not included because it's just too un-cohesive to think about in sides. So, which side is U2's best to date?

Tie- Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby side A.

Two finest Side A's in existance! :D

Funnily enough, despite being born in 1988 when vinyl was evidently on the way out, when reading a tracklisting for a CD I always split it into Sides A and B in my head since over the last few years I've grown more fond of vinyl and the whole sides thing...and I have no idea why!!

what?... so there's no transition whatsoever between Promenade and 4th of July on cassette!!! What's Axver babbling about?

PS: Too hard to decide... maybe Zooropa side A for me.

JT Side A, for pretty much the same reasons as neutral, only for me, I didn't have it at all. A friend across the street from where I lived had just gotten a CD player, and the first CD he had was JT. I remember listening to it and being transfixed by the first half. I had to leave soon after, so I didn't hear anything past Running To Stand Still until later on.

I also love AB Side B.

Achtung Side B
The Bomb Side A
Joshua Tree Side A

1.The Joshua Tree - Side A
2.ATYCLB - Side A
3.Achtung Baby - Side A -actually its my favourite album, but to look at A and B sides separately then these 2 were better

Joshua Tree A-side is King for me....

I personally think R&Hum should've also been included - whether or not it is cohesive is a matter of opinion.....

That is all

looking at the list i can't help to think that there's no better sequence than War side A.

But Achtung Baby A & B, as well as Pop B and UF A are making the competition hard.
