What makes U2 unique?

I read in an interview (I think) that the band made the pizza guy come into the studio and listen to songs during the recording of HTDAAB. They must have wanted his approval. Most bands wouldn't even order pizza in the first place, much less let an average civillian have an exclusive first listen to new material - which is the best way to find out what the fans will like. I think, too, that they do care about what we want. At least that's the point I was trying to make in my semi-rambling paragraph. :huh:
